I just went to the David stow war museum which is part of the David stow cheese factory They sell the cheese in there shop they do 3 year matured and 2 year. They told me the 3 year old ain’t in the shops 🤣🤣 Love the cheese though loved the museum it’s something special both are

It's definitely not the holy grail, it's fake old cheese: aged by a chemical process. That's why they can't call it "oude kaas" (old cheese), but have to call it "old" instead.

Old Amsterdam is not classified as true old cheese in the Netherlands because the aging process is not legit. You should try Old Rotterdam (100 weeks old) which won a couple awards for best old cheese in the Netherlands. Anyway nice video and the cheese has still a good taste!

Holy grail of cheese is Pecorino con Vermi, illegal but delicious, look it up! Travel to Italy and try to find it!

That's not Gouda.:) I love oud amsterdam. So pungent, so delicious.

Old Amsterdam uses a "special" souring agent in order to get maturity in 8 months instead of the 12 months "natural" maturation for ordinary old gouda cheese. Personally I don't really care for old cheese, so they can cheat all they want.
