Can You Build a Business for Both Cash Flow and a Big Exit?
Welcome to another episode of Business Lunch! In today’s episode, Roland and Ryan discuss the key differences between building a business for cash flow versus building it for a large exit. They dive deep into whether these two approaches are mutually exclusive, especially for bootstrapped businesses versus those with VC funding. If you’re wondering how to maximize cash flow while preparing for an exit or striking the right balance between reinvesting and taking money out of the business, this episode is packed with insights to guide your decisions.
Highlights:
“If you’re bootstrapped, you have a lot more flexibility than if you’re funded.”
“A healthy business kicks out large amounts of distributable cash regularly.”
“Cash left in a company can lead to bloat and actually slow down growth.”
“Exits aren’t always what you anticipate-there’s a lot more to the story.”

    I'm a seasoned marketer... The quickest way to lose me as a customer is to take me through this long stupid dance where you want to pre-qualify me, future pace me, agitate my pain blah blah blah.... Then have me jump on a stupid "discovery call" .... Just make me an offer, lemme know what I'm getting, if the offer is good and within my budget range, I'll take you up on it... If not, please don't waste my time.

    What a great video! DeAnna is absolutely amazing with people and is truly genuine inside and out. I'm new in the Epic Community (starting my 3rd week) in my first 6 days, while I was getting my haircut I was talking to my stylist about my plans to buy a business and what I was doing, and she said she wanted to retire and she would sell her salon to me if i was interested, which blew me away. It didn't occur to me until I spoke to DeAnna later, that it really only takes getting out there and talking to people, just tell everyone. Thank you for all the support and great content.

    This program is a complete scam, a rip-off and a complete waste of your time and money. They start off by promising a lot of things but they don't deliver at all. First of all, they make you believe that with little money (or no money at all) you can start doing rental arbitrage which is BS. It is not until module 3, after signing the contract already, that you uncover the real costs of at least trying to start doing this. It runs in the thousands! which is not doable for most people. They are not upfront about that at all! The contract says it is a 6 month coaching program which is absolute BS!. We were assigned a 'coach' that we only met once and the only thing she did was to give us a list of things to do, watch this, complete that etc. When we had questions, she would point us to another person and guess what? you needed to pay that person to give you the answers, even though the contract says '6 month coaching program'. There is no coaching in this program, that is, unless you want to pay extra.. The tools and deal analyzer is another scam, they promote it and then when you sign up, they ask you to use another third party program that you have to pay hundreds for. They tell you that if you find no deal in 60 days, they will find a deal for you. Not true at all! When my husband asked for this, they sent him a video to open an online store in which you have to put your social and other sensitive info, another scam within this program. This program is a scam, there is no coaching whatsoever and everything inside the program is an upsell. Look at the TH-cam reviews posted, all of them have the comments section blocked! Why??? because they don't want to be exposed. This is a $10,000 big scam. Don't fall for it. This destroyed my family since I have a back injury and had to stop working and my husband is working plus following this coaching with no coaching scam. Bryan is known to prey on his victims to remove reviews that are not favorable to him. He created an empire by scamming people.

    I find this actually super interesting. Maybe because I own an accounting and bookkeeping company. However, my partner and I are noticing this is a common problem. From time to time we are brought into companies to evaluate their accounting departments. It is very common for the leadership and accounting department to be at a crossroads for years! Beucase both my partner and I were busines owners before going into the accounting space often we are able to translate between the groups.

    A critic like David Barnett, who has years of experience buying and selling businesses, would say that acquiring companies with no money or 100% seller financing is very difficult. Even if you hear a success story, it's actually rare.

    • @RolandFrasierEPIC
      @RolandFrasierEPIC 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Critics’ jobs are easy as all they have to do is criticize what others create and do. :) The truth is that I do not not teach acquiring with no money at all or no money at closing. I teach how to use the assets of the company to pay for itself. It cannot be done every time, but I also teach that the best deals will come off-market (as opposed to listed with business brokers) and from motivated sellers (there are millions of retiring business owners and those with circumstances that motivate them to sell a profitable business). So, while the little or no money out of pocket approach is not appropriate for every business, it does work (for me and thousands of those I have taught) in many circumstances. The only way to succeed is of course to try and put forth consistent focused effort. That is also not for everyone. Cheers!

    @RolandFraiser: In my opinion a CEO is always directly responsible/accountable for CRO ( VP Sales / VP Marketing), everything customer acquisition/ revenue. So the COO can focus on OPS & CHR, Leadership, Cost Efficiency & Effectiveness. Never mix these two. CFO is chief numbers not people. If not, then you should opt for either an Investor Chair Member or Inluencer not a CEO role.

    • @RolandFrasierEPIC

      Halsi, house flipping is a tough gig and super competitive. I have high volume flippers as private consulting clients and I can tell you that the margins are low and the pressure is high. I suggest you consider something more high-end or flip businesses instead. You don’t need capital for any of those options, although capital can give you even more opportunities. You can definitely start with none and work your way up. Why not flip businesses now if that’s what you want to do!

    I am shocked Roland Fraisier has made an interview with Paul Logan considering the dodgy activities around his Cryptozoo project and how Paul Logan deceit all those people who believed in him and invested millions in a project that was advertised for kids and families, and has never even been completed! Poor communication towards his investors even to this day, plus Paul Logan being surrounded by a team that has very questionable integrity issues. Associations with such people should be thoroughly avoided by those who have high values to serve truly humanity, as I regard Roland Frasier. Humanity needs genuine integral inspiring models, not fake marketing & PR 'gurus'!
