This is a wonderful version! My first was Hockney at the Met in the 1980 I think. I'm also in search of a video of Balanchine's 1981 made-for-TV PBS "Dance in America" version from the New York City Ballet. I had/have a video of it somewhere but can't find it! It was co-produced by Balanchine with one of Jim Henson's co-Muppeteers, and it's magnificent.

That's just beautiful! Wonderful and emotive rendition. Somehow the song reminds me some of the ballads written by Maury Yestlin and Frank Wildhorn. Hopefully, one day you might sing "When October goes" or record an album on the theme of seasons or romantic love songs similar to "Love Like Ours" album!!

Oh wow, I haven't heard this song for a long time. Vernon definitely brings a new breath of life to it. I wish he sang a bit more of Summer Knows...it suits his vocal range a bit better. The ending (both vocal humming and piano tinkling) is so Streisand!!!

Another Streisand's song! I'm thrilled to see some of the songs on his album "By Myself" are Streisand's songs. I've never heard any male singer tried to sing Streisand's Yentl songs except for Michael Crawford singing Papa, Can you hear me? in one of his live performances. Shame about bad recording on this clip. Vernon's singing also reminds me of Michael Feinstein singing in a small intimate nightclub with a few fans.

Nice rendition. I like the simple french accordion accompaniment and lush piano and accousitc arrangment. It's nice and gentel. I never heard this singer before. The voice is really clear and the phrasing of the words somewhat similar to those of Streisand or Mandy Patinkin.
