the intro to this Demo orignially had kurt saying "We're the retards and we're gonna play a song for you!" At the start when it was released in 2004 on the box set named "with the lights out" The sadly cut off the intro this jam took place in the Melvins band practice area Or Dale Crovers home.
He actually overdubbed his voice...someone was twisting his arm.
Whilst this is an awesome version i am glad they went the route they did with it i love the abstract part on the album and that scream at the end of it best build up in a song ever

Dale Crover wrote the drum part to this song. Dave Grohl said, "Ohh that's how it's supposed to sound?!" Dale said it was just Beatles drumming.
Chad Channing is the drummer in this recording which was created in 1990 before Nirvana had ever heard of Dave Grohl. Chad Channing wrote the drums so don't say anything about Dave Grohl in these comments. Lol. Why even have pictures of grohl lol? He came later and simply covered Channing's drums. They didnt even know who Grohl was when Channing wrote and recorded the drums for this song and that Grohl later copied to record Nevermind. The 1st In Bloom music video has Chad Channing. Chad Channing wrote the drums for In Bloom, Breed, Lithium, and Stay Away. Melvin's drummer, Dale Crover wrote the drums to Drain You. Grohl got their permission to copy their drum compositions when he recorded Nevermind. The Nirvana Studio album songs released while Cobain was alive that Grohl wrote drums for were Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, Territorial Pissings, Lounge Act, On A Plain, Something In The Way, Aneurysm, and all the songs on the In Utero album.

@@theburgerler There's a giant picture of him as the video thumbnail and multiple pictures of Grohl in the video when Grohl had nothing to do with the creation of this song and isnt even the one playing in this recording. If you search In Bloom, Breed, Lithium, or Stay Away (or even Drain You who's drums were created by Dale Crover) on TH-cam, look in the comments and video descriptions. There is widespread ignorance about what drums Grohl actually created for Nirvana's music. I am tired of Chad Channing not getting the respect he deserves and also Grohl getting all the attention and money for the drums other drummers created. I decided to leave this comment before anyone even mentioned how good Grohls drums (the drums you are hearing are Chad Channings - not grohls) for drums he didn't even create before anyone left a comment so people might learn that the drums they love for these songs were created by Chad Channing.

This was actually the first track Kurt ever wrote. He found his grandads time machine in his shed In Aberdeen and travelled to the Future and saw himself rehearse with nirvana and memorised the chords but not the lyrics. He then went back to his time and wrote down the chords In his journal. No one actually knows what the song that he originally heard was called or what the lyrics were but he had changed the time line so we'll never know.

Drain you was actually along before he found his grandad’s Time Machine. Do you know the fecal matter tapes? Well, growing up in pugent sound I went to aberedreen a lot were Kurt and Christ was. Well( he handed me a copy of fecal matters and I snuck out at the six o’clock that night in my dads car (hiscar was the only way to listen to music taps in my family) , well on the paper kirt handed me it said ‘for secret track hold down rewind he play button at the same time’ we’ll, I did and it samtarded playing what I recall as playing “drain you” but like and early. . I eventual lost the tape when I was 14 well technically my dad make me thrown it away (haha it was all ‘/satan song” to him lo) but m recalling how that all haooeb. Growing in averdeen, Seattle, Wisconsin. Z.

I am pretty sure the first known demo was in 1990, August maybe? Actually here... th-cam.com/video/o5gc1CjsAvk/w-d-xo.html This is the same recording, just better quality, and the intro to it is there.... This was included on WTLO minus the intro due to it possibly being offensive. If I remember right, the song was initially written for a scrapped side-project called The Retards or something like that. This is the demo, but without the intro. Check out the link...
