Good little session there Ash, always a chance of a strap conger on fish/squid baits off the local rock marks, and also a possibility of the illusive unicorn. Nice to see a decent sized whiting, a few of those go well in a Thai Green fish curry ;-)

Well done for getting out and making a video for us Ash. I went down on the 27th for a couple of casts, that mist got really wet and the wind picked up, not very pleasant at all. Highlights were watching a pod of 3 or 4 porpoise, and later, a couple of seals came and mocked me too. I like to see them, but you kind of know you are going to blank when they are there. Anyway, decided to pack up and on my "last cast", a 2 pound pollack on a metal. Had to have a few more casts, but nada! Happy New Year and tight lines to you for 2025!

I found that with the really fine braid. Lost an entire spool once with 4 wind knots in a row. I don't bother looking for really fine stuff anymore. Great videos by the way. I smashed my rod after falling just around the corner from there. Grrr.

Nice little video there Ash, it's not always about catching, that's a bonus, it's about getting out and chucking a bait or lure into the unknown. I took a drive down to cemlyn this afternoon at Low Water (big tides at the mo) Was somewhat puzzled to see a couple of people fishing to be honest!!! There can't have been more than 6 inches of water 100 yards out!!🤣

Probably going to do the back of Penrhyn tomorrow afternoon around high water. Was walking back from a mates house up there by Mike's old Chapel and it's the first time I saw the lights on the pier, they're brilliant definitely worth a night time high tide session on there. Its very well illuminated now!

I’ve fished there many a time and I’ve caught lots and lots of bass + the odd pollock. Anyway that was a really nice pollock so I just can’t understand why you didn’t put down your rod and picked up the pollock especially as you were on flat rocks and the sea was mirror calm. It doesn’t make any sense to me to lose a pb for no reason whatsoever!
