FLY FISHING AT A BEAUTIFUL LOCAL LAKE IN COLORADO SPRINGS!!!
มุมมอง 6697 หลายเดือนก่อน
Decided to check out this beautiful little lake in Colorado Springs. I saw that there was trout, crappie, largemouth bass and catfish in this lake. So my initial thought was to fish for bass, but once I got there I saw a bunch of Rainbow Trout surfacing so I decided to try to catch them instead. I caught so many I lost track! Super excited to find this new lake!! Enjoy!!

just started fishing this stretch as few months ago. amazing trout in this part of the river!! 5 minute drive from this place and I get to cruise on my skateboard?!? hell yes
@@vankoch4512 that’s dope! It’s a vibe for sure when the weather is nice! And there’s HUGE trout in that stretch for sure!!
Where do you park over there that won’t get you towed?
@@johnreyes946 so this video were fishing out of the middle lake. There’s parking just off the main road. Go down River PKWY and then turn on Centennial Cir and then you’ll see parking on the right. There’s a Fox Sports building right there. If you navigate to that on your apple or google maps it’ll take you right to that parking lot!
Awesome fishing man! Sweet channel too, I’ll definitely subscribe
@@Michigananglingadventures I really appreciate the support!! I’ll subscribe back!
Well I have had better experience with worms 🪱 other than powerbait at the evergreen lake
@@amandaprice4895 the day I went they didn’t seem too interested in live worms for some reason. I’m sure it was just that day!
What is the cabin/property? Sorry if you mention it at some point...I am watching now and just haven't heard yet. I live near Bailey and would love to check it out!

Only one fish is crazy bro switch to spinning reel or something!!
Yessir just clipz
I love fishing the Platte. I go farther south than downtown a lot. Numerous species for sure, even Pike.
Use pink one, that's Tim Borski's favorite.
I think I saw a tap, on that first cast. WTH.
Is this near Fairplay?
@@AlienWorkshopxXx it’s just before FairPlay. It connects spinney res and eleven mile res
My gopros do that it's a common issue only way to minimize it you need to take the battery out and use a USB to extended battery pack. That keeps it cooler bur look for reviews I got the wrong.1 at first
@@OneEyeGamer oh dope I never thought about that. I’ll definitely grab one. I appreciate the info!!
Which lake is it?
@@MrShabotshalom I honestly can’t remember. I know I was in golden for the day and found it. I think it was crown hill lake!
Yo I got a crazy carp spot! I’ll put you on 😎 Would love to link up and fish together sometime! Cool videos 😎
@@coreyhardisty5312 oh dope! I don’t usually fish for that but I would be down. I’m sure it’s a great time. I moved out to Colorado Springs
What lake is this ?
@@deborahholmes1170 it’s the Rocky Mountain Arsenal!!
What reservoir is this?
@@Lightning718 I believe it’s Sawmill Reservoir! Not far from downtown Breck
Wouldnt eat that fish dog
@@proehgame3 never! lol the only time I eat fish I catch is if it’s up in the mountains out of a lake or a river. I would never eat anything out of the south platte dt. That water is nasty
I was there with a spin rod and I used corn and marshmallows and caught like fifteen rainbow and brookies
@@fishingbros861 oh that’s dope! I wouldn’t have thought to do that!! Nice!
How close to downtown is this? Is it towards Elitches
@@SeanMaez yup it’s right behind elitches! So I usually park at Rei and then you’d go off to the right. There’s also free parking like southwest of the Rei parking lot
@@jarrettlgreen nice I knew it was around that area somewhere, love the vids bro just started recently watching I've probably ran into you on the Platte at some point 😂

Graphite rods will dry rot and break. Buy one good fiberglass pole will last a lifetime. Mike from Denver
Not correct. Graphite has near zero modulus loss over repeated use. Fiberglass breaks down at a faster rate. That said, both will outlast your lifetime.
Hey! I have a question if you dont mind, what is the pond called? Cause all around in my area bass fishing is pretty dry and its mainly just trout and i would like too hook up onto a few bass before the end of summer.
@@Thez0d1acs this one is carpenter lake at the Thornton rec center. Also try out Gravel lakes and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal!

Me and my family went up to the dream stream last summer def need to go again only reason we dont is cus the drive there sucks i dont even remember how long that mountain drive was lol (from co btw )
@@Zayosrs haha yeah I feel you. It’s about a hour and a half or so away depending on where you’re at in CO. But yeah definitely get back out there. It’s a blast. And with both 11 mile res and spinney res right there can’t beat it!
Is using a fishing pole cheating?
@@scottg62g it might be! I might try throwing line out with hands left time and see if that works
Which part of Denver do you live in?
South Denver now
I used to fish that as a kid, crawfish works very well under that bridge.
That’s good to know. I haven’t tried any soft plastics there really. I’ll give that a shot
@jarrettlgreen Denver has a lot of good hidden gems it's nice to see another local fishermen

Thanks bro I appreciate it!! 🙏🏾
Pause on getting the butt dirty
LFG!

its ok you can call it a bobber, i use them to for live baits like minnows and such.
Yeah I just try to get in the habit of calling it an indicator when I fly fish. It’s all the same!
wow! beautiful water, scenery, fish, im jealous! up here in connecticut i never see stuff like this. i need to take a trip! first, down to florida for peacock bass
There’s so many amazing lakes and rivers out here in Colorado!! I prefer bass fishing for sure so taking a trip to south Florida to get on some peacocks is a dream of mine!!
@@jarrettlgreen Same here! cheers
I just went down to the platte this morning off Zuni and 8th not very good luck there i need to find better spots other then the mountains
Yeah there’s definitely spots that aren’t as good. I’ve had a lot of luck right there by Rei downtown! I park at Rei and then take my bike up and down the river right there. I’ve gone all the way down past the broncos stadium. I’ve always had great luck over there.
🔥
Thanks bro!
Yo bro I like the channel, bass fishing in colorado is hard for sure, you should do a fishing w subscribers sometime id pull up for sure 💪
It’s tough for sure!! Yeah I’ve thought about it. My schedule is so crazy that is hard to plan with people! But I’ll definitely let you know. That would be dope. I appreciate the love 🤝🏾
Just went there today for the first time. Caught some brookies with a spin rod. Lots of little trouts along the shore with some giant trouts in the mix. Also, a giant mousse walked up to say hi and take a dip in the water. Will definitely come back
That’s awesome!! Such a beautiful spot to go fish!! I’m glad you enjoyed yourself!
Decent place for being right off 112th n Colorado..
For sure. Thornton rec is one of my go tos when I don’t have that much time. It’s close to me and I usually catch something!

No gods name I vain on utube
New too the channel , definitely gonna have to get out on the south platte I live on 285 an always wanted to hit it up never knew where to start .. hope to see you out there one day catch some biggins 💪🏽
Man I felt the exact same way! I just watch TH-cam videos and look at the app Fishbrain. I started over by REI downtown. Most of my south platte videos are over there. I take my bike and ride up and down it! It’s super snaggy so be ready to lose some baits and lures lol
Powerbait eggs are hard to beat, usually catch more with those than anyone using anything else. You Got to try out the various colours in garlic scent, like lemon lime and sunrise. I slay with those. Good video, thanks for sharing.
For sure! Man there’s an endless amount of colors! I’ve only tried a few though. I always find myself sticking with yellow, orange or green. Garlic scent is a must though! I appreciate you watching! I’ll have more videos coming soon! The weather here in Colorado is starting to get better. Thanks again!
@@jarrettlgreen I would check out sunrise, because all of those colours is what is included
How is using bait cheating. That's part of fishing to use bait
Some people just think it makes it “too easy” vs using lures or fly fishing. Just curious to what others think.
@@jarrettlgreen fishing is not just by using lures only u can use bait but bait also doesn't work, fish don't always bite on real worms or trout bait, it really depends on how hungry fish is, fish are always picky about live bait. Still it's not cheating, that part of fishing no law say u can't use live bait
@@christopherromina5445 Some Colorado lakes are fly and lure only and barbless hooks so there is a law that say's you can't
@@jarrettlgreen It is way easier and less skill to use, I use them for kids to catch but find lures tend to keep from getting bored and are more fun to catch with. Less of a chance gut hooking them when using lures is a nice bonus. Fish however you get enjoyment.
@@Cru_Jones33 I totally agree! I grew up using power bait. Sit on a lawn chair with sun flower seeds and wait until the bobber goes down. I’m definitely more of a fan of using lures. Way more fun!
