For those saying "the Aledo should have decimated all the California class ships one by one": polite reminder that the Calis do carry a perfectly functional, if unglamuous (oh, the very definition of the clas itself!) armament of four phaser banks and two photon torped launchers. The Galaxy class carries twelve phaser banks and two torpedo launchers. The 30 ships of the class do have more weaponry than TEN TIMES THE ENTERPRISE - D. Anything short of a Borg cube would be bloody obliterated against that in a volley or two...

This is what happens when a Tiger Tank suddenly faces down a dozen Shermans at once. It may be bigger, have better armor, and a better gun, but through sheer numbers, those Shermans will tear it apart.

There’s something really funny about this being so known to the crew, that everyone’s genuinely happy for him to finally get to do it, AND are able to assemble to cheer him on on his way to do it.

After the hints dropped in "Picard" that Worf was apparently in command of the Enterprise-E when it was lost (and he insists it wasn't his fault)...my head canon is that Shaxs was on the ship, Worf ordered him to eject the warp core, and it's been burned into his brain ever since as the solution to absolutely every problem.

No matter how many times I watch it, this sequence always gets to me... Nothing quite like a whole pack of underdogs teaming up to take down the 'big bad'!

It's like that one time they actually listened to Worf on TNG and even he was surprised.

I love Captain Shaw…in the beginning of this episode yes I hated him then grew to love him. His heart was always in the right place, he was just a stickler for the rules. But he’s a Captain I would’ve loved to served under and would’ve adapted to, especially when you learn how cool he really is! RIP Captain Shaw 🙏🏾🖖🏾

It says a lot about the crew of the Cerritos that someone on the bridge quietly mass-announced to the whole crew that finally, after suggesting it at every opportunity, Shaxs was finally gonna get to live his joyful dream of smacking an enemy vessel right in the face with a an ejected warp core detonation... ...and literally EVERYONE dropped what they were doing and crowded the edges of the path to the Warp Core to watch him do it and _cheer him on._

One of the things I love is how you can see the progress of Bajor through the make-up of Ops. It's basically all Federation at the beginning of DS9 and by "What You Leave Behind", it's half Federation and half Bajoran. By the time of Lower Decks, Ops is completely made up of Bajorans.

The military actually has stuff like this. It's called "Battle Short" and it's basically "Ignore all safeties and limits and go as hard as you can." And yes, doing it is a one way trip to losing your job.

I imagine if the way the US army decided on new ships was, rather than objectively looking at the different specifications and other hard facts, did a fucking drag race.

So, how did Starfleet have all of these higher technology devices before Kirk took over as Captain ofvthe Enterprise and then all technology regressed a century?

First 2/3 of the show sucked. Hopefully this season tells them what Star Trek actually is and we get more of it. But I doubt it.
