    Great video. I am in AZ what range is this? I just go to the one in south chandler but I don't think they go out to 100

    Nice video, thanks. When you have the adjuster at 100, did that also make your top 4 pins at 60, 70, 80, and 90? Or do you adjust the slider to shoot at 80 and 90 according to the tape?

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if it would make those pins 60 70 80 90. I don't think it would because your velocity between 30 and 40 would not drop that much compared to what the drop would be between 90-100 and so on. If that makes sense.

    I'm confused on where you put your 60 mark, as it doesn't line up with the ink mark... It seems your 60 mark would be way off.

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll have to rewatch the video again to confirm but my pins are 30,40,50,60,70. I started the slider adjustment at 70, because 70 is my "slider" pin. I didnt want to have 70 completely at the top of the slider in case I needed extra room to move up for whatever reason. so when i put my mark, i purposely marked 70yards and 100yards with the sharpie and lined up 70 and 100 on the new sight tape to get the correct velocity.

    Is the only difference between the Mountain Lite 3 pin and the Ascent Verdict Assault 3 pin the micro adjust? If so, what site head would you recommend over the two? Thanks brother, dig the vids.

      I've honestly never have dealt with the Mountain Lite, so my recommendation wouldn't really help out that much. Sorry. I do love the Ascent Verdict though. Super easy to set up and dial in.

    How will this stop someone from taking it just take the box and all. A wast of time and money. Pointless!!!!!!

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree if someone wants to take it they will take anything regardless. But it is a major deterrent. I actually did have one stolen and had many people on it before that, but it took a guy wanting it so bad that he brought a cordless grinder in some of the roughest country to cut the lag bolts behind the box. Like I said before, it is a major deterrent, but if somebody wants something, they are going to take it. My deterrent is just a cheaper way to protect them a little better.

      Terry Beasley And thats what sucks about thieves, if they want it, theyll take it no matter what. But anything that will slow them down or deters them a little bit is what I’m after.

      Terry Beasley stealth is the only way. What they can’t see can’t be taken.

      @jedidiah5131 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not many thieves go around tromping through the bush looking for trail cameras to steal, its a waste of their time and they stand a good chance of getting caught, using a grinder isn't a preferred method, way too noisy......and not many will carry a grinder or a crow bar....Its more for that dishonest hunter that happens upon a trail camera and not many of them will even bother once they see a lock box or a cable lock. all of my cameras are high in the trees or just out of arms reach...that alone is a deterrent...

  • @ezskanken

    What made you set all your pins lower in the housing vs setting your first pin in the top 1/4 of the housing? Need to go sight in when the weather clears, and hopefully start practicing longer shots.

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      EzSkAnKeN the reason I did that is to get the most yardage I can out of my bottom pin. It also gives me a better sight picture with my upper pins, the upper housing of the sight won’t get in my sight picture of an animal.

  • @scottmcmillan5085
    @scottmcmillan5085 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a couple of things. 1. There are smaller boxes that will fit cameras better and they have a padlock tab already. 2. The boxes do not keep the camera from being stolen. They just rip the box off of the tree and take the whole thing with them. 3. I don't waste my time with these boxes anymore as it doesn't prevent them from being stolen. 4. Good idea, may deter some, but not all.

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Like I said before, it is a major deterrent, but if somebody wants something, they are going to take it. My deterrent is just a cheaper way to protect them a little better, makes them work for it, instead of just taking the strap off the tree. And there are probably boxes that do fit better buuuuut thats all home depot had at the time.

    Just shoot thru chronograph

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      flushot 09 the chronograph was not correct. Your bow could shoot differently depending on arrow weight and pound and a number of factors. A lighter poundage might shoot 280fps with a light arrow and have less drop at 100 yards. A heavy poundage bow might shoot 280fps with a heavy arrow and have more drop at 100yds.

    When shooting at 100 yards, were you using the same pin you originally shot 70 with?

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ryan Reynolds yes. The bottom pin is my floater pin, meaning whatever yardage I adjust my slide to, I use that pin. But when I move my slide adjustment back to 70, my other pins go back to normal. 30,40,50,60,70

    • @JB-vf6mw
      @JB-vf6mw 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      BadAZhunter But how did you know a general idea where to slide to 100 to shoot your 100 group??? If we do that which is a complete guess we could possibly miss the entire target! Did you consider that?

    • @ryanreynolds3679
      @ryanreynolds3679 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      J B if you’re that worried about losing arrows maybe you shouldn’t be shooting at 100 yards yet

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      J B J B it was a guess really but you just kinda space it out. Looking at your pin gap on your sight, you slide it down guessing what your next yardage would be. So if my pin gaps are like 1/8”(just an estimate) I know if I move my slide down 1/2” from 70yds, I’ll be pretty close.

      BadAZhunter great! I have been researching what feels like a million sights and I really like this one from what I am seeing. Sighting in doesn’t seem all that terrible either. Thanks for the video!

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason N it is a great sight! I highly recommend it. Everything stays nice and secure while shooting unlike some of the other sights ive owned. But sighting in the sight tape is very easy. I should have been more specific in the video about what I did before sighting in for the sight tape. But I like my sight housing at the very top of my adjustment/slider, so putting it at the top, I then sight in like you would any other fixed sight. Then once my last pin is set, I move on to my sight tape, this gives me maximum distance, up to 150yds I can practice out to.

    • @niday079
      @niday079 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BadAZhunter sounds like this is the site for me. I like a lot of guys like it not only for hunting by 3D shooting too. Which is what I am looking for.

    • @badazhunter
      @badazhunter 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason N ive never shot 3D with it but it seems like itd be good for that too. You can set up your sight tape to where it go all the way into 20yds with your floater pin. Which I think would help you out better than my method. But good luck and let me know how you like it if you end up getting it

    Awesome idea and video! Just a suggestion, I always put a rain guard above the opening , and I ensure that the opening is completely closed off around the camera to prevent wasp, ants, or any small bugs from getting in. I use weather strip and any kind of foam to seal it off. Just wrap the foam with camo duct tape (If the foam is not a dark color).

    I just ordered one of these sights. I feel like I must have misunderstood on setting up the sight/tapes. My impression was yardages could be set from 20 to 100 yards. I see you selected 60 to 100. Guess I'm back to rereading instructions from BG. Thanks for the video.

    • @maxh3647
      @maxh3647 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can go from 20 to 100, your top 4 pins would be 20, 30, 40, and 50, with the 5th pin being 60 and the "slide" pin. Because your "slide" pin starts at 60 that's where your sight tape would start. I had the same issue when I first got mine.
