My Dad played this on the accordian, he always gave it oomph at the chorus, no-one played it quite like my Dad, but Ann Williamson is the only one so far that I have listened to that increased the speed of the chorus - love this version

Gypsy girl at my primary school used to sing this song every year at out assembly and I used to cry like a baby lol. I remember she had olive skin and green eyes and the voice of an angel. Over 20 years later I still think of this often, I think the first time I felt emotion from music.

Wonderful singing, Ann, about the place (Benbecula). I tried photographing it on the horizon about six years ago, from Skye! Haze made it all uncertain. Have sung the song at many pub sessions in recent years, or played the delightful melody.

I wish I was scottish so much. I love the culture, the food, the landscapes.... I live in the "highlands" of Brazil, it calls Minas Gerais, the highest place here.... Guess the only way I can do it is close my eyes while playing and singing this song in the accordion.... the only way to be in Scotland, only for a few minutes.

My favourite song of all time I have at least 20 different singers doing it , but none can out do Ann , I need to go home to KLB very very soon
