First let me say, "Thank you!" I did have to change the pattern. The headband I used varied in size of width from 1 inch, the middle 2 inches, back down to 1 inch. Had to increase going up and decrease going down (of course). Also had to change rows 11-21 to be HDC. I did, however, follow your pattern for the crown part. I slowed the speed down and it made it distorted. Frustrating, but I made it through the challenge after all.
