French Cylinder Clock Movement from a Comtoise Clock

This lovely little cylinder music box movement comes out of a spring driven Comtoise clock. The large hammer on the top is lifted by the movement as demonstrated and about 2 minutes after the hour (every hour) it is released and th music box plays. It has 2 airs and plays wonderfully and tune. Enjoy.

These clocks do hold some value nowadays. Ones that are working definitely hold more value.

Early ones where painted black and a different casting
The main movement does have black paint under the green so it has been painted at some point in the past.
has it got a rheostat on it ?
No it doesn't have one fitted but it all seems to run just fine.

Does your clock strike the hour about 2 minutes after the hour again?
Mine does 3 minutes past the whole hour.
Hi I have a similar clock. after 3 minutes or so it stops. I oiled the bearings with synthetic clock oil. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
