I have no issues thrifting baby or children’s clothes. Everything I thrift is washed with a sanitizer. That butter yellow lambswool scarf is beautiful, lambswool is a very nice natural fiber❤

And have an amazing ability to find beautiful, cool things!

It's a shame that sine are now trying to go back to very cheap but honestly they're selling what would be rags collection. I see many many clothes more expensive than their original price or same as say Primsrk £2 t shirt out of shape stained and hobbled for £4 costs £2 new. I tend to buy new goods only as savvy shopping online is cheaper than charity shops and if people know what the actual £1 send to the cause is they would not bother. I agree ovetsll they're too greedy

Don't be sorry at all. Thrifting is like this. I thrift second hand clothes for kids. We all have washing machines and with cleaning it once or twice is fine.

Hey be happy that you have charity shops. In my country were i live now we do not have such shops. Maybe we have in big cittyes. So....

I don't mind paying up for quality/designer brands but cheaper and non-name brands like Primark etc should be sold off more cheaply. Better to sell things off for £1 than sending it to landfill. I wish we had large stores like in the US!

I have volunteered at two charity shops and the waist is ridiculous ! I think they should have regular sales and really slash the prices

I am not well versed on UK charity shops and their specific purpose or intention but I can speak to the larger “chain” thrift stores in the U.S. While the profits from these stores provide much needed programs and services these stores also provide lower cost shopping for families in need. With the gentrification of thrifting the families who really need to be shopping there are being priced out. I do think that thrift stores should get a fair price for the items that they are selling, full retail is expensive, but they also need to be reasonable, it’s a balance.

I also think they have a lot to sell, so It is better to sell It cheap than not selling and accumulate it. I am peaky if prices increase obviously.

Charity shops are named for what they are. It’s amazing that things can get new owners, be reused, decrease waste etc. But they’re ultimately for charity. They’re there to sell items at a reduced price in the hopes of rising that money for the charities. They’re aren’t actually there for customers but the charities. I get what you’re saying about being able to use more stock up etc & yes it never hurts to sell more if quicker but overall doesn’t really work that way. I also think it comes down to the items also, like a designer item. Sure they could put it at a tiny fee but if it’s a good item, it’s likely to still sell at a higher price without being ridiculous. Even so, I think this is something I might need to get more clued in on as I feel like there aren’t many good ones near me!

The charity isn’t for the shoppers. It’s not necessarily cheap for the customers. It’s about using the money collected to help support charities and people in need. With inflation everything has increased in pricing including the needs of charities.

I don't know about uk charity Shops but the thrift stores in Germany definetily increased their prices a lot in the last two years, I assume they doubled them.

Been trying to Thrift some cotton or linen plus size pieces for a trip to Italy this Summer. 90% of the pieces donated are fast fashion, polyester, shapeless garbage.

Thats great i went to japan tokyo in november last year the weather was really good! Enjoy it the people there are lovely. The shop are great to! Enjoy yourself

Hi Jess! So cool that you are going to Tokyo! I was in Japan last April and I can say it was one of my best trips ever. But thrifting is not too easy there, I will tell you. I was in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and been in a lot of different thrift stores and found that most of them sell imported clothes from Europa and mostly America 😮 and not for cheap! Also the sizes were often way too small for my curvier body. So I wish you luck and look forward to a haul. Do you plan to do a Japan vlog?
