Such a nice video!!👍🏼
Great episode, would love to know what y'all think about the state of having physical books vs electronic libraries, or audio books. I believe they both have they place. Th3 audio is way better, keep up the great work.
Hi Freddy! Thanks so much. We love books in all their forms; there are pros and cons to all. There's something special about the tactile experience of holding a physical book (plus studies show it can greatly improve reading recall), but it can be cumbersome to carry around and physical space it takes up can be daunting. Electronic books are great for their ease of access and small storage space; however, comprehension can often get lost in translation. Audiobooks are some of my favorites! It activates your brain in the same way reading a physical book does (you can watch a video about the studies done on this topic here: th-cam.com/video/k61nJkx5aDQ/w-d-xo.html). Cons for audiobooks...hard to think of any! I guess if you're a young reader needing to improve sight words or the translation of written word to concept, audiobooks circumvent that practice -- but that can also be a "pro" for people with reading difficulties. I hope this long answer satisfies your question, haha!
Good first episode y'all. I have a question for you. I've recently come across a sort of "dry spell". I love reading but it's hard to find something new to get into. I love focused stories with only a couple of main characters to keep track of. The brightside of this is that I've started to look into more genres. I've even started looking into romantic novels. I'm wondering if you have any recommendations on something to read that can hopefully lead to some book rabbit holes. Nonetheless, I'm excited for your podcast, the audio needs work, but good content.
Hi Freddy! Great question. To give you better recommendations, let me know what some of your favorites are, and if you're looking for stand-alone novels or series. - Joslyn
@@sulrosslibrary9051 I usually go for single novels but, I'm open to trying out a series. I enjoy horror, thrillers, sci-fi, and some fantasy. Thanks.
@@skipperjustice Cool! Apologies for the late response...One of my favorite books I've read within the last year that you might like is Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
He was much loved and left an enduring legacy.
A gentle giant, anyone would be proud to have him as their brother. I wasn't born until 1973, the year Bonanza finished. My grandfather and I would watch this show on reruns on terrestrial Irish TV in the late 1970s. Bonanza brings the memories of my childhood with my grandfather flooding back. Thank you Bonanza 😊
With the death of Dan Blocker "Bonanza" was dead. He was the BIGGEST star of the show in every sense.
Great 😃👍 Actor. Well Missed RIP
He was so wonderfully and very funny and loved by us all
He died the year I left school in 1972
I've been watching Bonanza starting with season 1 episode 1. It's great to get this background bio on Dan.
Dan Blocker and Pernell Roberts two of the best that made bonanza great! Tx fan Gloria
I believe Mr. Dan Blocker was a really sweet man....just a big teddy bear with a loving heart.
I believed no other actor was more suitable for the role Hoss Cartwright than Dan Blocker.
When I was a child, and rode competition for a stable- I was able to be around Dan Blocker's horse. When he passed, the stable bought his horse, and I was allowed to groom him. Big privilege for me!
Hoss real name was ERIC CARTWRIGHT BUT ALL CALL HIM HOSS
Dan Blocker Reminds me of Charlie Daniels Saddle Tramp...
The character Hoss that Blocker created on Bonanza was a loving, gentle and beautiful person that everyone loved - He was taken too soon … as too many are - Thanks Dan 👏👍🙏
Wow I knew he was very intelligent but didn't know he served in arm force's let alone had been injured
We drove there for football.....we counted 27 jackrabbits in 3 miles. Excellent Mexican food in town.
Miss him on bonanza,
Congrats on all of your success, Lili.
HOSS !
I adored him. I loved the episodes when they were about him. I cried the day I heard on the news about his death.
Hoss or “Horse" as many a guest cast member called him, was a great man and character. Most educated member on the set of the Bonanza. Hoss is a favourite.
I alwasy liked him. A fine soul.
RESPEKT AN DAN BLOCKER
My gentle giant. Love me some Hoss. My big brother from bonanza.
Loved it
My favorite western hero on Bonanza. I still watch reruns.
Blocker was awesome. The big Hoss with a heart of gold. In fact, all of them were great, Little Joe, Hoss, Adam and especially Ben. Still love watching them today on Bonanza.
But HE WAS VERY STRONG . HE WAS WITOUT DOUPT PONDERORAS STRONGEST MAN . N I M 1000% SURE HE WAS VIRGINIA CITYS STRONGEST MAN
Commen for all CARTWRIGHTS THEY WAS THE FASTEST TO DRAW GUN
I earned a BS in Environmental Studies w/ emphasis in Geology in 2004. I loved every Geology course I took,; every field trip opened my eyes further and increased my understanding of the stories rocks and landscape tell us. The opportunity to study Geology was why I chose SRSU, and I was not disappointed!
He really was a cool, nice, respected, and funny guy.
I was lucky enough to have this fearless and amazing young person as a student!
My mom is graduating
