I was born off Ribbleton Lane in 1951, Dunmore St, second street behind the prison (first St Mary's St). It has long been no more than industrial units.. Although living miles away I still have a season ticket for the North End, I come off the M6 and drive down New Hall lane before turning at Acregate Lane (avoiding Blackpool Rd). In 70 years I doubt 95% of this area has changed much other than to go down the pan....much of it is dreadful, looks run down and neglected and presents a very poor picture of Preston. A lot of the housing is just dreadful.

Not sure all the changes and investments have been 'for the better' . . . . . Preston seems to have have had its 'soul' taken out Don't know the day of the week (Monday?), or time - but theres not enough trade & foot-traffic to sustain a business in many of those places So much road-works and renovation . . . . for the non-existent people & businesses! The Council has a LOT to answer for

The city is dead early in the mornings. The parks though are full of people on a nice day like this. Preston has some very lovely parks.
