Visiting Estes Park, Colorado in June - Month Overview
I love Estes park!
I don't know which I miss most. Coming onto Estes Park or the driver up to it. My nephew and I worked in Cheyenne in 2018 and in our final week, we took the trip to EP close to mid November, and i fell in love with the town. EP or the drive up, either way, it's beautiful. Thanks for the video.
I love at 7,300 ft today I went to one of the nearby "foothills" at 14,650..... After about 10k feet I would get so dizzy I had to take so many rest to reach summit ⛰️
BEAUTY 🐻🐻🐻
Tell me about your trip! What vehicle dis you drive, which tires, how fast? Trying to learn to maneuver driving in those conditions.
People are really idiots man.
I was thinking of purposing in january at estes, but im worried about horrible weather the whole time. Any expertise?
Is any of that footage in the national park itself?
Most of the clips are from the East side of Rocky Mountain National Park😊
Best place in Colorado
Stiedemann Flat
3212 Flossie Tunnel
That's so sad ☹️
Wow that's scary
Very nice upgrade 💙
Beautiful place!
Where is the mule deer?
Estes Park has been a tourist town from the old days. It used to be that tourists took the train to Loveland and then boarded Stanley Steamers to take them up the canyon (the old road is visible in places.). Then the tourists spend a pleasant week or two in the Stanley Hotel! 😮😮😮😅😅😅😊😊😊
Thank you! I will be there in mid-November and this was very informative.
I remember when you didn’t need reservations.
Do you do rides from hotel to Stanley hotel? Do you do pick up/ return from Fort Collins, Colorado?
@@Spoiled_horsegirl We offer pickup at any location in Estes Park, this includes the Stanley Hotel. We offer drop-off in Fort Collins from Estes Park only, no pickup.
Phtarmigan, Tarmigan, P tarmigan. Lets just call it Chicken, Alaska.
They’re doing such a good job of regulating entry. Maybe they should operate things at our southern border.
When driving up 34 or 36 in the canyon, use the pulloffs if you have people behind you. Pay attention to traffic signs down town. Estes park is not a petting zoo, respect the animals and stay away from them.
Also great tips!!
Informative, thank you
I was just there. People are idiots
It’s incredible how unaware people are that these animals can kill you!
I might have missed it, but you talked about long lines and crowds during peak hours, but did you ever tell us what the peak hours are? What times are the lines the worst to enter the park?
The National Park has changed the reservation system for the peak hours every year so to keep this video relevant for years to come, we did not specify what the National Park has set for their reservation system. Check out our video on the Timed Entry Reservation System for 2024 for more info: 2024 Timed Entry Reservation System Explained for Rocky Mountain National Park th-cam.com/video/rhszP9FEFZY/w-d-xo.html
Hello, fellow Texan! That explains the occasional "yall's" I hear. ❤😊
RIP Lucas.❤
6 more days till we are out there !!!
Is there a separate lane for those with a timed entry reservation? Or does everyone wait in the same line?
We' ll be there a week from Sunday !!! Can't wait !!
we are going in july of next year will the elk be roaming around , we usually go in september but would for my grandchildren to see them
The elk are always around, but July is the hottest month of the year and you can find them more regularly at higher elevations, off of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park
thank you so much!
He is i like "i am Otter here".
Oh snap ..that's a minx. My bad
We originally thought it was an otter too! After taking a closer look, we don't see any white markings so it's more likely a mink!
Just a couple of youngsters playn around !!
That relaxing music puts me to 💤 😴 💤 😴 💤 😴 💤 😴
Sad. Thanks for the view though-be safe.
I think my head just exploded listening to this
That seems to be a common side effect😂
@@exploreestes I’m retired and although decent on computers, I found the site VERY difficult to navigate. But it had me thinking…there is definitely a percentage of the population that would never be able to figure this system out.
Ello. So if I enter the park at 8 am doing have access to bear lake area without a permit ?
No, you can access all areas of the National Park minus the Bear Lake Corridor. Reservations are from 5am to 6pm for the Bear Lake Corridor.
Took this road on a road trip from EP to Cheyenne. It's so stunning ❤See ya in August!
Thank you for all the info! We will be visiting in mid August. I wasn't able to get a permit for Bear Lake, so we will just go early in the morning. I don't know what to expect for traffic at 4:30am. What time do you think we'll need to enter the park to get through the gates before the 5am cutoff at Bear Lake? Can we expect to just drive straight in or will there be traffic delays to account for? Thanks again!
You will likely be able to drive straight in. Less people are trying to get in before 5am, and the Rangers likely won't start manning the gate until 5am as well so it shouldn't be an issue.
I got nauseous and shortness of breath and dizzy 😪
Are there actually many places to drive around when Trail Ridge and Old Fall River Road are closed? If so, what do you recommend?
Trail Ridge Road never fully closes, you can still drive a portion of the road in winter. Usually to Rainbow Curve or Many Parks Curve on the east side. There are many other beautiful drives around the area, I would consider just about every route to/from Estes Park or in the National Park a scenic route. You can check our Scenic Drive Playlist for other beautiful drives in the area: th-cam.com/play/PL0ljJZNIEs8gu6uAkfuiL6WFZmyKVrHro.html
It's amazing how fast a state can change. The rapid Californication of Colorado has been depressing to see.
Cannot wait to get back home to the mountains! This will be my 6th trip to Estes Park and I will be there in late August. We came in August of 2022 and really enjoyed it. We camped and temperatures dipped down to around 45 which I thought was great! See you folks soon!
Nice! The weather’s been absolutely beautiful lately!
Thanks for the info. I'm already stressed out thinking about this over complicated system. Hopefully our decision to come out to Colorado for vacation this year wasn't a huge mistake.
First figure out the areas you want to see, then plan from there. It’s not too bad once you know where you’re going.
Hi! We only plan to visit Estes Park. Is this considered part of the RMNP that we need to make a reservation for (assuming we arrived during the timed-entry hours)?
Estes Park is a town, unless you plan on entering the boundaries of Rocky Mountain National Park, you do not need a reservation to visit the town.
@@exploreestes Ah, thanks so much. Can't wait to visit for the first time!
Will there be problem with long line if we go there early like 8am without timed entry in case of sold out?
There could be depending on time of year and day you’re visiting, the earlier, the better for arrival
There was a recent RV crash on the way down from Estes to Loveland Colorado. And a class A motor home fell off the canyon road and ended up in the river. We passed it and we had gotten there soon after the ambulances came and rushed the person or people to the hospital and they had 4-5 fire trucks there parked on a narrow part of the road
We saw that! Any idea how it happened?
@@exploreestes no idea how it happened. Assuming that it was just a major mistake while driving in the canyon
