Welcome! I'm Heather, host of The Hint of Hustle podcast, where I teach you how to make a bigger impact using your VOICE and become a known authority in your industry (while growing your online business).
Hustle vs Busyness: How I Work Without the Grind
Ok real talk- I almost didn't hit publish on this episode. After I finished recording I had serious “wait- I can’t publish that trainwreck of a ramble” thoughts.
But lately, I’ve been craving far more rambles and far less polish.
And if that’s you too- then hit play, because this one might just be what you need to hear.
Today we’re talking about hustle and why I will proudly continue to make it part of my life (why should we all should stop feeling guilty for working our tails off from time to time). It's all about working with intention, and finding a flow that fuels you instead of draining you.
In this episode, we’ll talk about:
▸ My relationship with the word “hustle” and why I think it is necessary
▸ How I got my business off the ground in the first two years
▸ The key difference between hustling and being busy
▸ Why being intentional is the new hustle
▸ The importance of hitting pause in your business

The Truth About Extemporaneous Speaking
มุมมอง 1379 หลายเดือนก่อน
I’m typically a plain spoken word kinda gal, but today we’re getting fancy. The word? Extemporaneous. The meaning? Spoken or done without preparation. Said another way - speaking “off the cuff”. As someone who makes money teaching others how to intentionally structure a message, it would be easy to dismiss the power of this word. But the truth is- extemporaneous speaking is one of the most powe...
My G.O.O.D Plan for 2024
มุมมอง 219 หลายเดือนก่อน
I’m wired for goal setting. Chasing that next mountain top of ambition is in my DNA. But when the ball dropped into 2024 and everyone else was hunkering down, massive year on the wall calendars and color coded post-its in hand, I felt ZERO ambition for planning. But what I did feel was a desire to get quiet and reconnect with something I didn’t know I needed which led to an entirely new way (fo...

I always appreciate your realness - the way I feel like it's just you and me having a chat! Girl, you have The best stories and your coaching/consulting wisdom is spot on! Your birth story though... seriously, watch the episode for that alone! LOL
I looked this up randomly because I realized I never use my hands or do weird insecure things with them. I had no idea I'd find this whole thing!
So glad you found it when you needed it! How are your hands doing now? 😅
Makes sense 💡🙏🏾

Genuinely helpful. Thank you.
Enjoyed the vid, alot of valuable points you made here that I will keep in mind.

love this!
This video was sooo helpful! I'm preparing to do an introduction video, and I have to admit, I'm NOT a photogenic person. I do fine when I'm speaking in public, but I HATE being on camera. That said, I definitely fall into the category of just hanging my hands to the sides awkwardly, or crossing my arms. Neither of which I knew wasn't helping me. So glad I found your video! Now, I'm going to go try that Beach Ball technique and establishing a homebase. Thank you Heather!
So glad this found you at the right time (and sorry for the delayed reply!) how are you doing with videos now?
@@HeatherSager I actually haven't done any videos since then, but this really helped me at the time I posted this.

YES! I think SO many of us do! Glad this found you at the right time :)
wow interesting
Well if you talk sense and are a good speaker, you don't need hand gestures.
The trick is: to learn how to have fun in the moment. And the trick to learn that is to not care. And the trick to not care is...I don't know...find peace of mind within yourself. But that's on you to figure out.
Golden Fragments I LOVE THAT
Awesome. It is a very useful technique.
The careful walrus revealingly peck because cardboard unsurprisingly pray off a snobbish mustard. enormous, brawny tree
Is this an example of the word vomiting exercise in type form? ;)
I love your direct message. 3 margaritas deep is a great way to look at it. You Rock!!!
Brilliant explanation, this is main reason of communication gap of not done correctly, got it💫
Glad this resonated with you Kishwar!
I'm glad that she mentioned that you can be overly expressive with your hands. Always considered those people as spastic or ditzy.
I like this, thank you:)
So glad to hear this was helpful!
Useful content 👌
Thank you!
Great explanation
Thanks Leah. Glad it was helpful!
Love this, Heather! Reminds me of what my daughter's equestrian trainer told her years ago. You tend to fall off the horse more regularly when you've reached the next level of difficulty. :)
Love that analogy Lisa! So true!
Crazy question but how would someone use these power moves if they only have one hand? I'm an amputee. Would these moves have the same impact?
Not crazy at all -- very valid question! Gestures can still absolutely support your message, so I recommend noticing how you naturally talk with your hand, then ask, how can I reinforce what I'm saying or emphasize making this work for me? Ex. Instead of using a R or L hand to gesture contrast, you can use your hand to gesturing to one side, then the other (same hand, just different positions). Where this would be tricky is if you were speaking to a live audience and needed to use a microphone (and if this were the case, I'd request a lapel mic so your hand is free to use). Hope that helps James! H
@@HeatherSager Perfect!! Thank you Heather 👍.
Great tips Heather 1. Left and right hands for 2 options 2. List or count using fingers 3. Big or small hand gestures 4. Repetition hand gestures 5. Head or heart 6. Absolute -power stance (never/always) -palms down 7. Neutral -trust -palms perpendicular to ground No favourite tip; I like them all!
So glad these resonated with you Leah!
That beach ball tip is so helpful!
Right?!
Great advice!
Thanks you Leah!
