    I’ve got a rather small collection (by choice), and think I certainly fall into the enthusiast camp. There’s certainly a difference between collectors and enthusiasts, but there’s also generally a lot of overlap too. How has your WC experience been? I joined the app in April of last year, and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s allowed me to interact with a lot of enthusiasts, and to partake in/host local watch enthusiasts meetups.

    Wow! 8 watches in one year is throwing yourself in the deep end of watch collecting. Do you see yourself accumulating watches into a much bigger collection or selling some to keep it down to a small size collection? Personally, I never sell a watch and try not to double up on watch categories - I have one diver, one chronograph and two GADA watches (doh!). I’m also trying to have a variety of companies and dial colours (currently 2 blue, one black and one white). All my watches are Swiss automatics so I’m also trying to diversify countries of manufacture and add in some quartz movements.

    • @dailykimchi
      @dailykimchi หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ianforber haha deep end indeed! great question that I’ll have to continue to explore (and probably make a video about), but I’m definitely more inclined at the moment to maintain a reasonable cap on the number of watches in the collection. it’s hard enough to rotate the current collection as it is! your collection sounds fantastic - hope you can pull the trigger on a nice, reliable (Japanese?) quartz some time soon! thanks for watching :)

    Hi great video how does the panda compare to the dresskx and 143 ? I have noth of them and keep thinking of a panda do you have a favourite out of them ? Also just checking on the 143 tropic strap is the quick release the fat bars ?

    • @dailykimchi
      @dailykimchi หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@daveLin104 nice! I’d say the panda is my least favorite out of the three, but the looks are hard to dislike. it’s a handsome piece for sure. one of the main reasons I got it was to have a chronograph in the collection that wouldn’t cost an entire watch’s worth to service. the solar quartz is nice but isn’t always easy to keep fully charged in the winter months. the tropic from strap habit doesn’t have fat bars, which I notice when putting onto the watch, but never during wear or any other times.

    • @daveLin104
      @daveLin104 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @dailykimchi thanks for the reply and you might have saved me money not getting the panda I should just be satisfied with the 143 :) I want a chronograph like you but don't want to have the future service costs like you :) can I ask why it's the least favourite please ? Also you might be better replacing the quick release bars with some skinny bars that fit the strap but have the correct pins for the lugs. It makes them more secure and causes less wear in the holes :)

    A nice conservative collection of beautiful watches… but the AE1200 is the workhorse 😊 the Casio Royal was never in a Bond movie, however it looks similar to the Seiko G757 (?) watch that was in the movie but production on that watch stopped in the 1980’s…so the Casio AE1200 took over that role😊.
