L.E. Wilson Case Trimmer
มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I cover what you get when you purchase the LE Wilson case trimmer, why I got it, how it works and what I love about it. #reloading #tikkamike #precision #howto www.sinclairintl.com/reloading-equipment/case-preparation/case-trimming/case-trimmers/stainless-ultimate-trimmer-prod39292.aspx
Stuck case removal
มุมมอง 693 ปีที่แล้ว
I accidentally stuck a case in my die today and I don’t have a stuck case removal tool so I build one using things that you may have around the shop or should be able to find at the hardware store.
Hey, I have a question. I just purchased a Remington 700 243 is it the same thing as your rifle like talking about like the trigger or the bolt
Im not sure I understand your question, sorry!
Sorry, what I mean is does my Remington 700 243 bolt and trigger are same as you variant of your rifle. If you know what I mean.
Yes it’s the exact same same other than yours is a short action, everything works the same though.
Midway USA has this Kleinendorf bolt disassembly tool.
Mine came with a metal case holder screw down arm.
Soooo, you didnt actually disassemble the bolt. You just field stripped it.
You are correct I didnt disassemble the firing pin, that will be in another video.
Good Vid...Never disassembled a bolt. Thanks
So just ran this process on my rem700 and lost a nice chunk of skin off my finger. If you for some reason turn the rear structure the spring loaded lock will snap back in place. If your fingers there it’ll grab it and take it with it.
I have a 721 I need help with. It’s hitting primer but not hard enough?
Primers may have a hard cup, maybe your firing pin is too light or you may need a heavier spring. did you ever get it figured out?
What model of 700 bolt is that. I have one like that and the extractor broke. 700 extractors are a ring and pin?
what do you call that tool? It’s difficult to find in-store
6:12 min video with 5 min of useless information
Agreed, the guy rambles.
Awesome thanks 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Is that a sinclair
What app did you use?
Great overview, thanks. But I think you should clarify that the micrometer you have there is not an L.E. Wilson tool. It’s the Sinclair micrometer that allows measuring in actual cartridge length, rather than the stock L.E. Wilson Micrometer that measures in .001 increments. Also the shark fin clamp on mine from a few years ago is aluminum now, and should never wear out. But if yours still works…. Sinclair took the standard trimmer and added their micrometer and shark fin clamp and their own aluminum mount, and with that plastic base and knock block they call it the Ultimate trimmer kit. That’s the way I went as well. Creedmore also makes a nice stand with a square knock block that you can mount the standard LE.Wilson stand to, and that branded stand is slightly different. I bought the power adapter for my standard cutter head (they have a different adapter for the TiNi cutter head) and with a power screwdriver or drill it makes processing cases faster, while still getting that great precision. Thanks again for the overview. 👍
Great video! I have the same trimmer and am hoping you could give me some help? I trim 22 Hornet, .223 Winch, .243 Win, .308 Win, .357 Mag and 44 Rem Mag on the trimmer but run across guessing the length on the micro. Then moving micro back and forth to the length. Do you ZERO the Micro? I have to rotate the case to achieve the case mouth squareness. Help? Thank you!
I ave been using Wilson for over 40 years. Great gear.
Got my le case trimmer a few months ago, not been real happy just because I've got a huge burr on the out side of case.It takes 3 time as long to get the bur off .Question do you have these crazy burrs
where did you get the base to store the different dies used
Sinclair had them. I assume they still do. It’s part of the base.
How do you determine the case length?
Any reloading book will tell you the case length and overall length.
Great video - excellent, concise content, good videography, high credibility, and most useful -- thank you for the links !
I think By New Case Holder they mean Resized as well. They should clarify this to the user. I just ordered some "New Case Holders" to use on my fired but full resized brass.
Can you full resize the fired brass and then use this fired case gage?
Yes. Typically you use this trimmer after your resize the case to get it trimmed to correct length.
Quick is good for when you want to destroy thousands of cases very quickly. I am holding off and trying not to do that.
My RCBS Pro 2 trims like dog has chewed on it. I have thousands of brass waiting to be trimmed only with LE Wilson.
Thanks for the video. Where did you get the micrometer like the one in the video. And the stand with the case holders slots? I have looked on LE Wilson and do not see this trimmer at all.. Can you help me out? Thanks
