I've had two of them. They live short ass lives and unfortunately misunderstood. It's not the bite but it's saliva. Loved emerald crabs 😅 regardless I hope urs does well. Easy to care for. They lived in a 3 gal tank. Mind u they were the size of a nickle and one overturned cup with some rock. Wet dry filtration and I covered every little gap they can get their beak thru. Yeah it's nuts and if u ha e kids be careful I wouldn't recommend it. I kept them at my bro apt amd he lived solo.

Feeding goldfish is a terrible idea, you couldn't have picked a worse option. If you can't feed disease free saltwater feeders you should use mollies which have a much much better nutritional profile. Also the venom of a rhinopias can kill so be careful with your hands in the tank. No need to hand feed this close.

Capture in their natural habitat?

Had 7 koi and some gold fish. The koi were big. 12-15 in. And a couple pounds. Within 3 days they all disappeared. Found one carcass in My yard. So i got some more. About 4 koi and a dozen gold fish. All gone next morning Not sure what got um. Believe the fish were too big for a heron. Because i had 4 15in koi go missing in one night. No way a heron would be able to even fly with that much weight. Not to mention fit in his belly. Maybe raccoons but my pond is deep enough that the raccoons would have to dive to get them. I dunno. Im still grumpy about it. Lol. I set up box traps and only caught the neighbors cat suzy twice.

Octopus scared me at first. Thought it was a spider. But it is cute and I like the name!
