      Don't do that, stay in you field. Or at least go to mechatronic engineering (insisting on the automation part and electrical engineering).

    In my opinion, these are only valid if you are a *working engineer* not that you don't need math. You didn't mention research and development. I am a 3rd year me student and I enjoy every course I'm taking this semester be it Control, Fluid dynamics etc because of the interesting maths involved. Maths would still be an important part of the field. I agree with everything you said , me does comprises everything. Even as a researcher you will probably be solving the complex equations with a tool like MATLAB or Python. But it still helps to know how these programs actually solve the problems in order to be able to double check the results and to even use the programs properly. Thanks for the insightful advice.       Si únicamente le gustan las estructuras como puentes de acero y nada más, entonces la mejor carrera para usted sería ingeniería civil o ingeniería estructural, no ingeniería mecánica. Aunque la ingeniería mecánica ofrece flexibilidad y se superpone con el trabajo estructural, especialmente en áreas como análisis de tensiones, materiales y dinámica. Saludos.

      Enrol in a mechanical engineering degree with specialization in thermal and propulsion systems or energy and power systems. Take advanced thermodynamics and aerodynamics course for your interest in jets, cars and train, as well as sustainable energy courses for your interest in electrical vehicles.
