lobsters, flat fish and scallops! (spearfishing uk video)
I run a 105 inverted carbon roller with twin under 16mm and 17.5 for upper, all from FFSUB. I miss absolutely nothing and it manoeuvres better than my 85. I like to pick out of a large shoal and not waste time doing it so this is what's right for me, its all personal preference.
@@Tentoumushi69 I also love my inverts and pick that as my daily user. Something about them they just work. 😁
Wot go pro settings are you using? Looks really crisp ❤
Its nice when 6-8 scallops fills a takeaway box 😂 Had the same down Kernow but would definitely love to head North
tell me about it! they are massive, wish we had them like that down here.
Looks like an awesome trip! Looking forward to seeing the full version!
me too lots of video to go through, aiming for November time!
Top vlog bearded! Get them scallops!
If you and your chums derive pleasure from this, may I suggest you consult a sexual psychotherapist - not that I care about you, more to protect other people.
Love it that's huge and the what do I do now made me cackle 😂
was one of those moments haha
Hi man, i still use plastic long fins. Is the carbon upgrade worth the cost?
Yeah
any carbon fin upgrade is worth it 100 percent!
@@beardedspearo how much did these c4 bad boys set you back?
@@MitchellAllen05 these ones we sell on the shop for £334. But we offer some cracking carbons at £240
That was a cracking video mate 👍
What sort of depths are you catching these fellas
@@LousOutdoorOdyssey lobsters very shallow 4-6m
that monkfish was huge ive never seen one so big before well done you seem very excited over it hopefully youll get more
hard fish to come by. usually by luck so was super happy!
cracking video mate i didnt even see the flattie before you shot it
great video mate keep it up
Im 90kg and spearfish at 25m what stiffness would you recomend, i found the cetma mediums very soft.
Personally we advise people soft is best. But it's defo worth trying to get hands on with fins as each brand is totally different there is no minimum standard. The 25s with the mb002 are just right
Hello, how did the hardness 25 seem? very soft?
Usually I go for a soft blade anyway as over long dives you maintain a good finning form for longer. These where amazing in water effortless.
Could you give more info about size lets say you got a 42 would you go one size up with 3mm neopren sock thanks great video
So there sizes are slightly bigger then the UK standard foot size that I have noticed. On there website if you go to there foot pockets section they have a size guide. Measure your foot as stated but bare foot then account for that 3mm sock or 5mm to suit. Best advise if your Intrested. Is pay a visit to us you can try all sizes on with accomodating sock so you can get a true gauge in the fit. Thanks for the kind words
Welcome back bearded, keep it up!
I wish it was legal to hand-pick lobster in Norway. You are lucky to be allowed!
That sucks but I hear a few countries have this law.
What a fantastic day, cannot recommend the course enough, Sam was amazing and we brought up about 14 lobsters, 3 keepers and all of us went home with 3 nice sized 🦞
Just found the channel mate, great stuff!
thanks for the comment appreciate it
Hi mate we spoke on Facebook you was helpful enough to provide suggestions for Wetsuits & stuff thank you for your help also didn’t know you had a TH-cam channel great watching & amazing editing
Thanks man appreciate it. Hope you got whats needed. Dive safe
Quality info as always Sam, cheers. Hope you and the family are keeping well dude.
Nice seeing people sharing content for others. The rubber selection depends on what will be accelerated - here the spear. Thinner/shorter spears can use a single rubber. Absolutely. The selection of the tube depends on budget and carbon is used for smaller guns so they can float after the shot - or for longer guns (added rigidity). The aluminum tubes that have an integrated rail are absolutely stiff - we use 120s and 140s and never saw any bending, using 2x16mm bands. Probably you refer to low-quality pipe guns when talking about bending. Personally I tend to use mainly the shorter gun for any scenario as I like the maneuverability of shorter spearguns. To get closer to fish just fin a bit more to close the gap - or have more patience (and breath hold) for fish to come in closer. The critical point here (talking about tube lenghts) from a safety point of view is that guns should float after the shot (no shaft on them). You are right for the UK - power is not the priority. Regards from tropical Panama ><)))^>
Twin 14mm’s for the females…? I feel personally attacked 😂
🤣🤣 there is no right or wrong. Just a personal opinion 🤣 To be fair I do miss the doubles for adjustability of power. But I love the simpleness off a single band.
I feel your pain, I've had many an ' ahab' moment with lobsters, my suggestion? Carry a yellow paint marker crayon, if you see one mark the hole, then hace two tries, then move on, you can always come back. With scuba. Lol
If you expected the RNLI to come out, wouldn't it have been better just to have let them know first 🤷🏻♂
Not really. If I did that every time. I'm aware of what I'm doing and capabilities. They came over we had a chat they where doing exercises anyway. So was all good. I've had it for surfing for years too.
I need to get back out there some time with ypu bro 😎 Nice vid mate 👌
That’s wild mate. I do the odd swim that long but only along the coast, not offshore..! Have you not considered getting a little boat? Even a small inflatable would make your life a million times easier if you’re doing dives like that regularly. Great content as always!
I used to have a small rib sold last year. I do have plans tho coming soon which will ramp the channels videos so much more also. I have access to other boats so do the big offshore stuff on them. Issue is most these areas hard to launch boats near by. I love my big shore dives so do it for the love. I dive 90 percent of time from boat so when I do my shore dives I go big 🤣
@@beardedspearo I did a lot of big shore dives this year, ended up really fucking my ankle while walking up the cliffs loaded with gear and a stringer of bass. I’m too old for it. I’m calling time on shore dives. I used to love them but now I’m mainly diving on my own, I need a boat. I’ve had a few small boats over the years but I’m getting a ‘proper’ one for next season. I have a 2.5 hour drive just to get to the sea, factor in a massive swim then 2.5 hour drive back, it’s just a step too far now. Anyway, very excited to see what your channel has in store for next year. Give us a hint!! 🙏🏼😅
Great shot on the pollock!
Like it.. Good tip about starting deeper and get shallower through the session. Looking fwd to the PB bass vid
Sick video as always! Really loving the camera angles I think it works really well. Gives others a really good idea of how they hide and what they are looking for when hunting for lobsters.
Thanks appreciate the kind words.
Hi mate just a question on your tarpon shark skin wetsuit I do a lot of shore dive around rocks etc are these suits ok for this type of diving any advice would be appreciated 👍🏻
Hi mate. I have had this top for a year now. Used to hunt lobsters under rocks wedging myself they are very strong I haven't ripped it at all or even made a scuff. There a very good suit as they are sandwiched. I have got another one coming to.me.very soon as well in a 5mm for the summer. If you want to chat more about it or ordering one. Head over to the website and give me a message mate.
Nice video man, water looks lovely and clear. If you're ever in Barbados on holiday or something I could hook you up on lobster/octopus dives or just spearing fish. All the best!
Camera angles for the holes were really nice! Better than a head mounted shot IMO. Great vid too!
Appreciate that. Was a lot of faff and set up dives. Think that's why I lost a few them feeling threatened with the constant diving. may try do some more but maybe make a mount that connects to a weight that way it sits on its own no prep needed.
@@beardedspearo I bet !! You managed to get it nice and close though, shame you lost the bigger one.. Something like a mini weighted tripod would be cool! I might have a look at making one myself now 😂
Nice one fella.. Was this a recent dive or older footage ?
@@carlhescornish recent mate week or so ago there is still some fish around too. Had some flattys last week bass yesterday.
Love the intro!!!
Thanks mate that's an old one need to get my new one done.
Good one Sam! Well explained on sizing etc. camera angles of lobby in holes was cool 👌🏻
Was difficult setting up I think one of them took me 10 mins to get camera right was a lot of faff but might start using it a bit more. Probs lost out on 1 of the lobesters trying to get good angles for the camera 🤣
Lets gooooo Pays to be early 😁🤑 Sweet video as ever mate 👌🤿
👏👏👍👍
Glad I found your channel mate . Just generally, what area are you mainly diving in? I'm SouthWest .
Thanks for kind comment. I'm Plymouth Cornwall generally all over not one fixed spot.
@@beardedspearo I drive through the night to get to the Lizard. Bit of a drive there and back but worth it when the viz is good, stay safe .
Awesome stuff mate !
Max does that sort of thing eh! 🤣 Can't wait to see the video from our trip yesterday! Awesome stuff mate, keep it up 💪💪
Love your tube mate, do you ever get scared diving to 15m.
Appreciate the feed back. No back when I was approaching them depths the feeling and pressure can become weird. But you soon get used to it. 15-18 is now a comfy depth range to me.
I hope your channel makes it, I would deffo have a foraging or underwater course with you and will book it, every year we go to Mullion and Tenby but due to a family member becoming ill we missed this year, roll on spring and holiday season, love the tubes m8. @@beardedspearo

Thumbs down,,, your wife's language in front of the boys.
There going to learn it from school one way or another especially now days kids say it in primary better to learn at home there adult words and not make it taboo. My kids have never swore ever. Appreciate your comment tho. And hope you enjoyed the video overall
Hi are you running your lobster hunting courses this year still if so are there any places left and how much If there are no spaces and are you running it next winter cheers
Hi Paul thanks for the message. Are you on FB at all? If so head over to underwater foraging UK and send me a message can answer all your questions there. Thanks
I reckon you could grow your channel if you choose more suitable tunes, Joe PKs content is lit for that reason. i love dirty squelch in the club but not in the water. Not hating just stating 😉nice bass btw
