Isn't it dangerous to put powerful engines on these wooden airplanes with structure that can only sustain +6 -4G? Wouldn't it be too easy to exceed the Va or VNE and snap the wings etc?

An inspiration to all rc pilots who want to put on a show - as opposed to showing off with wintips on the ground or bashing the rudder on the ground. Great wing shape, great video work.

About 20 years ago, in the summer time...I was traveling west bound on I-94 just east of Battle Creek Michigan, home off Kellogs. I noticed off in the distance about 1.5 miles ahead, a group of six small planes, they popped up, straight up about 1500 feet, then did a twisting barrel roll and lined up with I-94 nose to tail very fast and flew over the highway. This caught me off guard, what the heck was that? About 4 miles down the highway I saw these six planes, swinging around in a loop to my left. They lined up with I-94 again and buzzed the road again. I realized those were A-10's the first time I ever saw one, or six. They were practising strafing the road, I assume. If I was a target, I would have never knew what hit me.

WoW!! What a show!! Gliders are cool by themselves but strap on a couple of these engines and they do amazing things!

Looks like a flimsy Bell X-1 with extended wings.

Interesting. But to me, the roar of the turbojets ruins the elegance of a glider. Perhaps I should just mute the sound! 😆
