A good instructional video on head halter fitting. I don't think there is any need to teach a dog to "heel" in a formal competition obedience regime. Most pet owners just want a loose lead and that is what I would be aiming for. It is very difficult for any creature (human or dog) to walk at your side for any length of time. There is definitely a place for head halters used correctly. Sadly we are seeing too many trainers (old fashioned compulsion or alpha style) using them as a correction device where they spin the dog around in a circle. That's definitely not what a head halter was intended for.

I use this one with my English Springer Spaniel pup!

I think it's real cool you had horses in your video, but you were holding your hand too close to the horses head. It needs to have about a half an arms length of slack unless you're asking them to do something like back up..

This guy is calm and spots negative or incorrect behaviour on the instant so he is able to correct any poor behaviour at that very moment. . This is the skill that makes a good dog trainer. Some people do t fit or train Halti s correctly and if you don't this can hurt a dog. Seriously if you snap a dogs head while he moves his head quickly! This is the same for most training collars on the market. Halti"s are the best for sure for training a pulling dog, but it MUST be researched by the owner well before using!
