Peyton Corinne, author of 'Unloved', reveals how TIKTOK can make you a BESTSELLING WRITER
This is an episode of 'Writer's Routine', the podcast that takes a look inside an authors working day, to find out how, when and where they write bestselling books.
Peyton Corinne is a love story enthusiast. As a teenager, she would write fan-fiction about her favourite series, then she self-published her own romance novels whilst working as a teacher, because she hit it big on TikTok.
The episode is a full break-down on why if you market yourself smartly and keep up with social trends, your book will find an audience, and traditional publishers will find you.
Her new novel is 'Unloved', it tells the story of star hockey player Matt 'Freddy' Fredderic, who can do everything at school but pass his exams. When he gets a tutor to help him out... a pining love story starts to develop between them.
We discuss why there will always be a happy ending, and how Peyton works the rest of her story out to reach that conclusion. Also, hear why she likes to write in long-hand, the little annoyances of writing full-time, and why getting a good editor can solve every problem.

    I really don't know why you have so less likes, views and comments, because it is so inspiring to hear from authors who have to "struggle" with a day job beside writing like the rest of us. I found you as I searched for such a content and subscibed after I found out that I can identify to your authors working days to learn from them. Additional, I learn from their thoughts and advices which leads hopefully to be published one day.

    I'll definitely read her books! I love that attention to detail. So many historical fiction writing "experts" on yt say we shouldn't bother about historical accuracy because no one will notice, but it drives me crazy when I'm reading and notice inaccuracies. I'm working on a novel that's set in the 1850's and based on a Wilkie Collins character, so I have to be historically accurate AND canonically accurate, otherwise what's the point?

    • @writersroutine
      @writersroutine 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I can relate to the feeling of doing nothing productive while writing. 😫 My day job has lots of stress and moving parts, then I come home and have pets and chores and family responsibilities. Just sitting/thinking/writing seem like luxury because nothing around the house is getting accomplished. The exception is when I'm working out a story problem over a sinkful of dirty dishes. I do some of my best problem-solving while violently scrubbing pots. 😂

    What is meant by “When I re-write, I ‘key’. I dont edit. I ‘key’ the whole thing…” ??

    • @russellcameronthomas2116
      @russellcameronthomas2116 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The word "key" here means "type", as in "type on a blank page". "Edit" here means "modify an existing page of text". So he is re-typing his whole manuscript by reading it off one screen/file and typing it into a new file. This way his brain processes every word through the act of typing, not just reading. In reading familiar material, it is easy to skim over and miss errors or awkward phrasing.
