As beautiful as it sounds in certain parts, it makes no musical sense, which is why it got 5th place that year. There isn't a band in DCI that can't blast some beautiful chords and play notes really fast. The music itself has to make sense; to be felt in a way that senses progression

I love all the casuals saying how Crown's drum book was easy for DCI that year but even the judge says the drum parts were written really well. Doesn't have to have 4:3 ratios and 9lets everywhere to be good writing.

Has anyone noticed that DCI does more closeups than usual when televised (showing my age here) or streamed. There needs to more high shots, shots from the back, and side angle shots. Superior performance... Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuue!

And people think this show was undeserving of its score?? The brass was flawless, guard was incredible, drill was basically perfectly performed on finals. Drumline was the only thing that wasn't executed perfectly. I didn't love the show design but that's just an opinion. The execution was amazing in this show and I respect the crap out of what they did. I don't think anyone will get this close to 100 again.

so I don't know if you or somebody else who upscaled this but I'm assuming that the interlacing issues happened with capturing the upscale and not the process at the end of exporting it. in fact I'm kind of shocked that interlacing is even still around maybe they used an old version of the video editing software., regardless thanks for posting looks a lot better than my VHS tape

Thanks for posting! I was confused when I first heard this as ‘Cuba’ 10:00 is out of place. 😅 it wasn’t the closer, it was our 3rd movement. Loved this show, it connected so well with the audience. Good times

This show was held against Feliniesque and OOTW, two EXTREMELY technically challenging books with the BD show in, my opinion, the most talented performance in DCI history. To say this came in silver is an achievement.
