In the context of Ibn Arabi's philosophy, ʿAdam represents the created beings and the temporal world. It signifies the finite, contingent, and differentiated existence that depends on the Wuzud for its being1. In summary, Wuzud is the eternal, uncreated reality of God, while ʿAdam is the created, temporal world of human beings and other entities. ----- 2.
