I was 5 when I met him. He was sadly and badly influenced and bullied by heroine. Sid thought his farts were cool but it wasn't. He farted like a patrol horse. He also enjoyed eating hot dogs and got all mad at me, when I called him a model and not a punk. I would say... This ? Sid ? Nope, never at all, this is Marian Gold, lead singer in german band Alphaville. This was issued 1984... whilst Sid had died 5 years earlier. This is "soft New Wave", - and Sid had been the opposite : he was a punk rocker, whose goal was to shock and to horrify righteous people and virtue leagues. Do NOT believe that this COULD, in any case, have been Sid. If you think that, after all, WHY not, it could have been him... then take my advice. First, search for Alphaville, Forever Young, and listen to their original sound (you'll notice that this, here, is precisely, in every detail, the version I've sent you to). Marian Gold had a "punkish" haircut too, that had become some sort of a trend, and even singers who were idols of romantic teenies were having that appearance, but much "cleaner" than punk bands. No, Marian Gold is DEFINITELY NOT Sid Vicious, not even remotely related... you can see. So, you'll think "ok, that can, of course, be a coincidence.. and Sid could have covered their song because he liked it. After all, who knows" No, that music was too clean and too gentle for his taste, and... as I said, he was dead and buried for 5 years when this came out. Then, my second advice, because some seem to have understanding difficulties, is to get some documentation about Sid's life and death. He sure was a fragile and broken personality, but, again, in no case was he a sweet kid (and wouldn't have wanted to be one). Sid wanted to provoke, and never did he try to be soft in his performances. How were his skills as a singer? Any idea about that? If he was just a regular person instead of a rock star and he did the exact same thing y'all wouldn't be romanticizing all this isht. Same goes with GG Allin. If some random muffuker threw isht on you while yelling and screaming and trying to assault you I doubt anyone would be like "omg what an artistic genius who was so misunderstood". Thing to realize about Sid is that even Lemmy Killmeister said he was an idiot, there was no way he could ever play an instrument and wanted nothing to do with him. Sid also ran away from Freddy Mercury to avoid getting beat up after Sid insulted him. Yeah. Real tough punk rock guy. Freddy almost stomped that dude out. Sid was a poseur. He couldn't play bass. He never wrote a song or recorded a bass track. And that simple BS you hear on sex pistols records wasn't him. Sid was completely unable to play any of the pistol songs. Sorry but the guy was horrible and his chick Nancy was wretched and ratchet at the same time. I'm sure the two of them smelled like a dumpster fire.
