There is only one artist who has truly captured the essence Howard's Conan and that's Frank Frazetta. Taking nothing from other artists who have tried but he stands above them all.

There is a dramatized shorter version of The Tower of the Elephant that i listened before this one, also pretty good, but what caught off guard was Yag-Kosha the alien Elephant man, i mean, freaking aliens in the Conan universe?, that is so cool and it has gotten into listening to these audiobooks! Btw Yag-Kosha was a good boy, he didn't deserve what Yar did to him and it's nice that thanks to Conan, he gets a second chance at being free and happy!

Conan is public domain? I thought for books by American authors the copyright is 95 years. 1932 + 95 = 2027 So I thought Conan wouldn’t enter public domain until 2028.

30:20 the scene when Thoth gets the ring (my ring... my power...), does that remind you of another character obsessed with another ring of power? Only, this Conan story was published 20 years earlier

42:36 What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing; Rush in and die, dogs-I was a man before I was a king.

And also I wanted to say thank you for your channel. Your voice goes well with the pulp fiction books, which are full of masculine men doing what they do. I especially love the conan series, and hate that they turned an intelligent, cunning, uncorrupted and pure man into the hulking imbecile in the movies with Arnold shwarzhisface. They even had to change the choreography of the swordfights because the guy's muscles kept getting in the way of the sword moves and he couldn't fence properly. And yet in the stories, it was a point when Conan was wrestling that executioner/bodybuilder guy Recently started the solomon kane and I really like how despite one being puritan and the other barbarian, there is this strange kinship between the two

Great rant. Its a push among other things to erode the feeling of brotherhood among men and make us conscious about not getting too close to our buddies otherwise its seen as gay. Whereas, we need that sense of brotherhood to thrive and to reach our fullest potential. But, men who are not depressed and alienated, who have something to live for, are dangerous for the ruling elites. You can see it in guys from countries where homosexuality is still deep in the closet, and where life is not so comfortable and that many guys rely on their band of brothers to make it through life. Polynesians, africans, slavs, arabs and other middle easterns. Guys act fruity af, kiss each other on the cheeck, go chilling naked in the suana, but at the same time its entirely the behavioir of brothers who love each other in the sense of brotherhood, not of any sexual desire. And yeah, it is incredibly shallow. My ex was obsessed with slash (aka gay shipping) fanfiction and it was pointless to try to tell her that there's more to the characters and their relationships than just a deep desire to push some shit. Its sad that people push aside the deep emotions and treat it as wank material

The machete and it's variants are the swords of choice while clearing brush and small scrub trees. Axes also come in handy at times. Our Dad's have/ had THE best tools. Old tools were made in USA or Europe where the tool steels excelled anything from the Chinese big box stores. Good tools are treasures if used to get the jobs done. Are we not men? We are going to offend the soy boys by our efforts. If you have children, stay away from doctors, shots of soy late' OR shots from clinics. THEY are the ones that are toxic. We are the protectors! Train and you may become a mighty man of valour. David was the historical "Conan" and said, "The Lord teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight!" Psalm 144:1 To the Lord of Armies, Jesus Christ, be the glory!

Howard's fascination with hominids is ever-present. Here we have an ape that learned to pull ropes, and that was enough to pose a big threat to the "rogues." I like that Conan comes back to punish the girl who betrayed him before continuing on his quest: Conan keeps his promises as a matter of pride, but he's also self-serving.
