Sold in the United States, Canada, and Mexico by GM, Pontiac was advertised as the performance division of General Motors from the 1960s onward.[2] In the hierarchy of GM's five divisions, it slotted above Chevrolet, but below Oldsmobile, Buick and Cadillac.
Amid late 2000s financial problems and restructuring efforts, GM announced in 2008 it would follow the same path with Pontiac as it had with Oldsmobile in 2004 and discontinued manufacturing and marketing vehicles under that brand by the end of 2010. The last Pontiac badged cars were built in December 2009, with one final vehicle in January 2010. Franchise agreements for Pontiac dealers expired October 31, 2010,[3] leaving GM to focus on its four remaining North American brands: Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, and GMC

Had a '66 LeBaron with the dual quads, dual ac and heat, 6-way power leather bucket seats, real wood trim. Incredible car. Then a '72 Imperial, which was pretty nice, but no where near as good a car as the '66.

The 71 model was modeled after the late 60s Eldorado and bears striking resemblance. Perhaps this is why 2nd gen sold double the units than the 1st gen.

Nice video. Too bad it’s inaccurate and the captioning was incorrectly showing 2nd gen even after having shown 3rd gen, I guess a tipoh? And what you showed as a 1969 was actually a 1970, having skipped the 1969 model example altogether. But I like Galaxies so thanks for the effort.

U know what.... I LOVE this!! Cool simple concept, and the period correct music is a great touch!! IF you'll allow a suggestion, I think adding the purchase cost adjusted to current money would just knock it out of the park. Also wouldn't hurt at all to add horse power and 0-60 times when available. Anyway cool stuff ✅ _LIKED_ ✅ _SUBBED_

I came here to identify a car used in several Perry Mason episodes 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 or 500XL convertable. They must have used the same footage of Mason exiting the car parked in the street and walking around the rear of the car in several episodes over several years because I've seen that more than once. Also, the episode that prompted me to actually look it up was from 1966. mystarcollectorcar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/IMGP6214.jpg www.motorcarstudio.com/vehicles/763/1962-ford-galaxie-500-xl-sunliner

Bring back the Rumble Seat! The one glaring omission in the modern automotive sphere of current offerings. The modern technology convenience is swell but with out the mother-in-law’s seating arrangement they simply can’t complete with grandfather’s ride.

Chrysler and Imperial made some of America's most beautiful cars....as well as some of America's ugliest cars. I think their designers suffered from either bipolar mental disorder, or perhaps someone kept putting L.S.D. into the designers' lunch room coffee pot.

The Chrysler Imperial that appeared in the first few minutes of the movie Back from Eternity which was released in 1956, was the outstanding car I noticed when I saw the movie on Television late night on a weekend in the 1960s . The other thing was the beautiful girl who was holdups a camera with a friend to interview a famous professor was Barbara Eden in her movie debut.

From 1926-1954 it was Chrysler Imperial. In 1955 Imperial became its own separate brand and continued as a separate brand until 1975 when the brand closed. The later models that popped up in the 1980s and 1990s were Chrysler Imperials. If Chrysler wanted to re-establish the separate brand again they would have needed to sell the dealerships franchise and licensing rights as they did in 1954.

Nice video, but your 'adjusted for inflation' prices are totally WRONG. Example: 1972 price was $6,762. You say that equals $12,000 in 2019 dollars. WRONG. It would be $41,000 in 2019. Please go back and correct your mistakes.
