Thanks for this video, just yesterday my driverside headliner was wet, now i checked it i see some crack on that same spot as well.
Same issue with 2009 accord on both sides.. I see that it is very common
I have a 2009 Honda Accord EX . This is also what happens to the passenger side. So much water I have to use a shop vac when it rains. Did you contact Honda? If so, what was said and what happened?
Thank u!!! I have 2008 Honda Accord. It's doing the exact same thing. So Honda recall.. make it right...
Same in mines
I really doubt Honda ever cared about videos like these.
All of us with the 8th generation, will eventually have this problem!😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
It looks same problem is in my car Acura rdx
Exactly the same problem started in my car (09 accord ex) in Jan. 24😢
Hondas are garbage now
I’ve worked on cars since 1988 Started off working on Honda and love them. But I can tell you with absolute certainty Honda quality has gone downhill since about 2002. I don’t recommend Honda to my friends anymore. Toyota only now And I never buy models with sunroofs
Did you find a solution to fix it and did you ever notify Honda about it
Did you have any electrical issues. When it rains all lights from my dash light up. Great video! Thanks
I have had an essentially trouble-free 2007 Honda Ridgeline, so I just bought a super clean, low mileage 2013 Civic Si less than 3 months ago. I had water coming in on the driver's side A-pillar and soaking the floor. Water was also filling the right side of the trunk. Dealer said it was leaky glass seals, so I had Safelite replace both front and rear glass. The problem continued after the next rain. Safelite tested all around the glass seals and sunroof with both high and low pressure water, but there were no leaks. I am having a hard time finding anyone who will diagnose and repair this problem on my car. This has been a 3-month drain on my time and money. :'-(
The trick is to dry it out quick, I actually put a small home dehumidifier in the car for 24 hours, that dried everything perfectly. Then sprayed lysol on the padding, carpet etc. And put the car all back together of course after the leak location was sealed at that seam under the plastic strip .
Had the exact same issue 2 weeks ago on a 2011 accord, it was that seam aswell.....cleaned it up and used a polyurethane Sealant and fixed the issue
Had this issue on my 04 tsx, cleaned the corners, sanded , used a lil flex seal and some permatex sealer and no more leaks
I have the same damn problem
2008 exl- I bet we will find the exact same defect!! Very disappointed in Honda!
I Got Honda Civic 2008 and from the same spot panels came out from joint and water is inserting and leaking inside cabin. Due to this reasons here in Australia , Honda gonna soon wrap up their business and companies like Mazda are selling 10 times more car than Honda. Very disappointed Honda customer .
lots of talk but little fix ;(
I’m from New York and we had a rain storm last night and I’m going through this exact feeling rn same spot on my 08 accord lx-p so unfortunate
Did you fix this problem? I'm from New York too, and I have the same problem that you, and I have Honda Accord 2008.
The Honda Accord is absolute trash anymore. Look at the lawsuits Honda has got themselves into recently. I used to be a Honda fanboy. Always talked up Honda and their engineering. Honda R&D is like 20 miles from me. Im about half tempted to take my 2010 accord and drive it through the front door of their plant. Honda sucks anymore. Go Toyota and don’t look back.
I have the same issue.
seems like this is a common problem for old honda cars. my 95 civic leak at the side of the windshield. put a new silicon sealant and the problem solved once and for all.
hello so how did you fix it
Filled the gap with Permatex heat resistant sealant. You can buy it at your local auto shop or on Amazon. Good luck.
So this video is nothing more than a complaint video but provides no way of fixing it? Where do I go to get my 6 minutes back?
Thank you for the informative video. This is a great example of poor car design. Same problem with my 08 Honda Civic; same design, same problem. What happens is over time (ten years+) and miles of rough roads, car being jarred by pot holes, the car frame flexes and twists. Because of the poor design, this area where the roof is joined to the door frame and A-pillar is highly susceptible to metal fatigue and cracking, which results in cabin leaks. This only occurs to older vehicles with this design. By the time the leak occurs, the vehicle warranty has expired and Honda will not own up to it. Writes it off as "wear and tear". I removed the drip molding, cleaned the effected areas with a wire brush and alcohol, then applied two coats of Flex-seal.
But not moulding strip is broken so can I leave it open ?
Yes you can leave it open/uncovered as long as you patch the leak.
Just fill it in with some silicone sealant
Did anyone solve this issue? Please help me guys
Bro did you fix it? I have the same issue. Please help me
Did you fix the issue? I'm facing the same issue and I cannot stop the leakage. Would you please help me? You reply is highly appreciated
Change change cos cos cos cos chi’s cos cos cos cos chs
Interesting video. I noticed a leak in the same place on my 2013 Honda Jazz, with the rain water dripping inside the cabin where the plastic a pillar trim meets the fabric roof lining.
Nice breakdown man! Thank you
Same thing with my 2001 civic lx on driver side
2007 Honda Civic 3 door and yes! Leaking on both driver side and passenger side. I have to now shop vac the carpet and shampoo it with vinegar. Put mold stuff on it to help that mold and mildew.
Daughter's 2010 Civic. Same symtoms. I need to pull the trim now and see how it looks
Damn your car is dirty
ATG has addressed this major problems (driver, passenger, foot-well & back), to Honda. Honda followed the American ways of building cars because they all agreed most owners buy new after 4 to 6 years. So let the poor /or Honda's suckers pay for it if she/he keep the car beyond 100K or 6 years.
what is ATG?
Thank you for the info Same problem with Acura TL 2011 but in the drivers side leaking to the fuse box cuasing the alarm going off in the middle of the night.
@ Seven Corners did you find out where the leak is coming from? I have the same problem, replaced windshield going to replace wiper cowl and I need to replace fuse box. Any idea how to fix that?
@@atefazmi7707 I changed the Trim on both sides and i put Silicone all around the windshield Problem Solved
@@Colibri505 thank you so much really appreciated
Honda 2006 same crap except on drivers side everytime it rains,,,, i had enough....
I have same problem bout to fix it same year as yours. Deff not the drains hoses from sunroof.
I thought it was sub seal or sunroof drains but man. Your was leaking really bad my just stains.
I have 03 Accord EXV6 coupe same problem.
Yeah it's the frame the glue seal
Having the same problem with my 2006 Acura RL all of the sudden. Has never happened before now everytime it rains it leaks in.
My 2003 is now leaking somehow and has a pool of water in the back driver side foot area. I'm really worried it's the area under the roof trim as it's a pain in the butt to repair. 100% I would JB weld that shut like the other user because I've used JBweld to repair a trash disposal which gets constant water and abrasion. I was worried that i'd have to replace the roof trim, as mine is in terrible condition, the plastic has stripped from it, it doesn't seal in the front window area anymore, and it costs a lot, like $175 each, or even if both that's expensive as heck.
I have had multiple hondas. And will never buy another honda. Will buy toyota instead.
I have an '07 Lexus rx400h and the B pillars inside show water marks and the seatbelts are damp when it rains a lot. I've been looking for a reason for weeks. Finally will bring it to a body shop...when they are taking new appointments at the end of August! (More than a month away. Because they are booked solid)
I started having this problem and been figuring where the leaks are coming from ... thanks for this video and I’ll get tape to tape the top
Fixed?
Add my mother's 09 to the list. During heavy extended rains the front/rear passenger side floor literally is a pool. Suspected she left the windows cracked but after 3x I grew suspicious. BTW this is not just Hondas. I have seen Chev/Fords... you name it leak. I would attempt to fix this but 10+ yrs old it is time for another car.
Just to update... My father who has fooled with cars his entire life simply got a piece of tin foil and a thick rubber band. Has not leaked since. Took him maybe 30 seconds. I did not see it but there is a "drain" hole or pipe?? and he simply covered it. Now any rain just lets gravity take care of it. Also open your back trunk and look just above the tail light. Any water runs down the channel and will go right into the noticable gap. No clue as to where it goes but I usd some clear silicon to fill that "hole". Do both sides.
I know it was a few years ago now, but do you happen to know which hole he plugged up?
