Here is my 60 000 km review update on the Nissan Np300 hardbody 2.5 tdi 4x4.
The Nissan Hardbody has been a familiar face in South Africa for many years. It is also known as the D22 Nissan Navara in Australia. I have been an owner for 2 years now and I thought it would be a good idea to give my feedback and experience of ownership. There are mostly good things and some bad, but I thought I will give an owner's perspective of owning this vehicle and after 2 years of owning one, I think I can give a good review for you guys.

Is your NP300 all wheel drive all the time? Or can you swap between 4x4 and 2x4? That will help fuel economy. Thanks for the video tho.
My NP300 has got a lot of engine noise inside the cab. Is there a noise reducer or isolation between top of gearbox and gear lever cover?

2 months ago I bought the same model. 2018 with 155 000km on. I paid R280 000 because the bakkie is in Immaculate condition and I prefer this generation of bakkie over the new (almost disposable) plastic bakkies on the market now. I love this vehicle. It suit my needs and bad farm road perfectly. All I would want is more cup holders !! Otherwise, a simple, strong, good vehicle.

I have a Code B that allows for vehicle GVM of 3500 and trailer GVM of 750. For me to tow something like a caravan or large camper trailer I will need a minimum of a Code EB. It is the dumbest system ever...

Mine have 60 000 km on the clock now and I am still happy her. Just take note that the suspension is on the hard side.

How do you make the hard suspension better? Its really painful to drive this car on a bumpy road. Do u think if i change these A/T tires for softer ones it will be better?

Hi Jaco, om eerlik tewees het ek nog nie met die 2.4 self al gery en so aan nie so ek kan nie regtig vir jou sê wat die brandstof gebruik gaan wees nie. Daar is n baie nice facebook group "Nissan hardbody/np300 owners club Southern Africa" waar jy ook kan vra.
Hallo Jaco. Ek het toevallig ook so 'n bakkie by my pa gekry. Die 2.4 is 'n baie betroubare engine. Ek ry hom nou al vanaf 175 000km en hy het nou 243 000km op. Ek het hom nou al amper 4 jaar. Sy verbruik is omtrent wat mens sal verwag van 'n petrol bakkie (taamlik swaar). My gemiddeld oor die 4 jaar is 7.2km/L. Dit is soms oop pad, stad, 4x4, kamp en sleepwaens sleep. Dit is ook redelik konstant, mits jy nie sleep nie. Stad ry en oop pad ry bly hy omtrent dieselfde. Ek kry omtrent 500km op 'n tenk. Ek onderhou hom baie goed en laat diens net by Nissan. Ek het soms dienste by hulle laat doen wat billik was, maar ek het ook al taamlik baie vir dienste betaal. Ek is egter besig om vir my die 2.5tdi te soek. Veral agv die brandstofprys

I've driven this vehicles before. It feels tough and old school. Really like the old school 4 wheel drive. The engine is peppy in terms of torque. You can definitely feel something when you put the pedal down in most gears as long as you're not below 2000rpms. The rear seats suck and the front suspension starts squeaking especially if you abuse them. All and all, great cheap truck that does its job I think nissan made these better than the navara. Especially the D40 navara.
I get 700 km from a full tank travelling @120km/h. I also get 800km when travelling at a 100km/h
