Visiting the Palace Hotel Buxton, Peak District Hotel, 4* hotels Derbyshire
We visited Buxton as part of our family holiday to the Peak District. We stayed at the Palace Hotel Buxton for just one night in July 2024.
The hotel is classed as 4 stars, however it feels like it should be less compared to the quality and facilities of other similar hotels.
- clean rooms with lots of space
- modern bathroom
- mattress a bit saggy
- no fridge for water
- no air conditioning
- the pool is nice and only £6 per session which includes use of the gym. They only charged £3 for the kids.
- the spa area was small but looked nice
- the lounge and bar areas are nice
- we didn’t have breakfast but it was £12 per person (not sure about kids prices)
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very central and close to restaurants and bars.

In April 2024 we took the family to Olympic Lagoon Resorts hotel in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. Actually it’s closer to Nissi Beach than to Ayia Napa itself but very close by cheap bus ride or by cab. Is the aqua park actually part of the hotel? Or offsite? I would only imagine it would be quite noisy that’s all 🙈
It's right next door but actually you can't hear it at all. It's awesome being able to walk over there whenever you want though

Was this an inconvenience for you? I'm thinking of going with my partner and 4-year old son next spring. Would you say the hotel is a good choice for a kid his age?
@@albertroberts1112 so first of all in the waterpark it gives free drinks but there are no food spots. I really think it is a good place where you can go with youre 4 year old son, there are a lot of activities your son can do and i also think the hotel is very kid friendly hotel (soory for my not perfect English i am not a native speaker)
What was the weather like in April? Considering for next year
Can people who don't stay there use the pool ??
I doubt it - it doesn't seem like that kind of hotel

I went there and the hotel has EVERYTHING you can think of, pool,waterpark,store,restraunt,rock climbing,ziplining,ocean,infinity pool,golf,castle play area,even huge chess
HI what are the differences between the Orenda and the Finesse, Can't seem to find out more information. Thanks
The Finesse is a separate hotel but next door. It did look much quieter when we were there, maybe less of a family resort and more for couples. It looked smaller and more intimate. But I didn't go in and explore so can't be 💯
@@lohspressplay5578 oh the finesse is bigger than the orenda when you look on to the map of the both hotels you see that the finesse ist bigger than the orenda. I really think the orenda is al little bit more private because there are lesser people ( soory for my not perfect english i am not a native speaker)
it looks very nice. how is the food?
Average. Depends what you like I guess! I only tried the French restaurant and the Japanese lunch buffet as well as the main buffet. Perhaps the other restaurants are better
