Individuals purchasing LTC insurance as part of their estate planning and is paid for by individuals. Medicaid, on the other hand, is for people unable to pay for their care. (And yes, many people do move assets while preplanning to qualify for Medicaid). Wouldn’t federal or state funding for LTC policies be redundant with Medicaid funding? We know that many ppl move assets to later qualify for Medicaid, wouldn’t tightening regulations of this kind of estate planning be a better fix to Medicaid dollars being over spent? Medicaid currently looks back 5 years with gifting or moving assets. Should they change this?

So much kool-aid being drunk. In my company the CEO has gone off the deep end and and just keeps saying "we are an AI first company...we must be leading in AI...etc" , we are not primarily a tech company. It's just all so tiresome. The LLMs are great tools, up to a point, but it's not 'revolutionary', and the costs will rise exponentially to even squeeze just a tad more out of them.
