    I bought a Milsco seat just like that off ebay, $170 total (including shipping and tax). However, it doesn't have armrests. Nevertheless, much nicer than the OEM seat that came on my x350. Very easy to remove the original seat and install the new one.

      Hi Casey, yes been to busy to make any videos the last few years. I get about 5 gallons per hour boil rate. Made 5 gallons of syrup last year. It can be a project fire bricking the unit. But I’m very happy with it.

      Hi Craig I was told by another viewer that this copper heat exchanger can produce cooper oxide under high heat. I wouldn’t recommend it at this point. But I’m still alive and use a WF Mason 2’x3’ hobby evaporator now.

    Hi Jon. I appreciate your video of the seat replacement ! However, over this past year 2022, the Seat Warehouse has closed - no longer in business. So I agree that the stock seat is uncomfortable, as I just bought a 2016 JD X580 used tractor with the same seat. I guess I will need to search the Internet to find a good replacement. Again thanks for the video!

    looks great but you need to get rid of the copper tubing idea... copper when heated, (depending on the temperature it's heated to) can produce "copper oxide". Copper oxide is a black flaky / powder residue that may be toxic to humans (debatable), but I'd prefer to have the syrup as clean and pure as possible if it were me. If you want to test this, simply heat a small section - maybe a 1" patch of a length of copper tube with a torch to red hot (or there about). Then let it cool or cool it with wet rag. Then flex of bend that section over a paper towel to collect the residue that will fall out of the tubing. If you'd like to eat that, then continue, if not - maybe use stainless tubing or just get rid of the heated syrup idea and just add it a little at a time so as to not loose your boil. That "dark color" you mentioned (and as can been seen) in the video could have been some copper oxide getting into the product from the initial burn in of the copper tubing around the stove pipe. In fact, I'm pretty sure it is actually. You can google the CuO toxicity. I don't think it will kill you, just not sure I'd want to eat that. I would think you would want to do this outside so as to not sticky up the walls and ceiling in the garage wouldn't you? or was that not a problem with the garage door open?

    • @jonboersma1536
      @jonboersma1536 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do bring up a very good point, I won’t be using that heat exchanger anymore as I have the warming pan with the WF Mason. I don’t think with the cold sap flowing in the copper, it ever got that hot. Only when I was done boiling and the fire was still going and nothing in the copper. Before the next boil I would flush out the heat exchanger with clean water and black flaking stuff would come out. So you are correct and that is a great observation.

      @@jonboersma1536 I'm really not liking the pre heater tubing with the copper. see my comment on your first video from 2020. And now that I have seen a few of your videos and the black color of the copper, I can say with certainty there's copper oxide in the product. And as I said in the first comment for your first video, I don't think it will kill you, but ingesting copper oxide probably isn't the most healthy thing. I think you should google CuO or try my experiment mentioned in my previous comment.

The armrest kit doesn’t have any pictures but is the first one that pops up and is labeled seat kit for $86. Says it’s the armrest kit that only fits Milisco XB200 seats. The seat you gave number to says replaces Milisco XB200Y-N so it should work then.
