My current appintment has paid 100% of their apportionments for 20 years at least, they have never caused a burden on the reserves but this change will add an additional $6020 a year to their cost according to the calculation tool. So what happens when churches that are not paying now still don't pay? Is that why my church that has been paying all along will see a increase over the apportionment system?

My firm’s principals and impact statement is focused on how someone else perceives those statements. That is how we grow to understand, accept, and embrace others.

Hope we remove pronouns and just align us and the readings as family members, not aligned to anyone as he/she.

I am not better off than I was 4 years ago, therefore how can those that have less than I do be better off. If this woman was truly leading people by the Spirit and Word, she wouldn't affirm and condone the ungodly practice of homosexuality. Do you know what Jesus meant when He said, "I came not to bring peace on the earth, but a sword, and to set a man at variance with His neighbor?" He meant that taking a holy stance on matters of faith and practice will often come with severe social and relational consequences. It may just drive a permanent wedge between two people. Is it "hateful" for a doctor to inform a person he has cancer? Of course not. Neither is it hateful for a Christian to inform a practicing homosexual that such a practice is evil, and the true Christian will do just that. This woman is not a true servant of God but a "tare" of the wicked one.

This didn't age well. A lot of breaking promises, timelines, and procedures after they realized many more churches wanted to leave than the few they expected. More than 7,000 now, I believe. I'm sure there would have been more leave if they hadn't starting making it almost impossible to leave before their cutoff date passed. It's also sad that the African congregants weren't fully represented at the Conference and able to vote according to their stances. Very sad when God's unchanging Word is totally ignored. Totally invalidates the whole UMC denomination and that's sad. This seems to remind me of how in the last days people in the faith will be swayed and deceived by the doctrine and teachings of demons. I grew up UMC; thankfully the Lord led me to Spirit filled church that believes and teaches the entirety of God's Word.
