Great review. Do you have to be a government employee to acquire the "US Government" on the dial?

They are a really impressive looking watch but on mine the compass and temp gauges are redundant. Zero accuracy. More a novelty really. Minus those and it's a pretty big standard ana/Digi watch using decades old technology. Coupled with very short battery life and expensive replacement process that not all dealers want to undertake and it's a tough one to justify the cost. Best to save for it's solar triple sensor big brother the gwg1000

Does the coating get erroded ? It is chrome plated alloy so i asked

Would like to see the user interface when golfing. Hard to find anything on how the “plays like” adjusted distances are accessed and displayed for example. Does it break down the adjustments and their component parts like the s70 and Fenix 8?

I got it because it has aviation features. Compared to their other aviation watches, this one has the basics.

The non lumed arabics is a major let down. A matte black finish vs brushed would be a plus too.

I bought this after seeing this review. I love it for doing gym, outdoor activities or DIY. The only thing it's missing is a timer but apart from that it's a great watch

Useless watch overpriced and crap support. End of the story the program for the mobile phone shucks. Save your money and buy something that worth the money.😂

Does the fenix 7 have virtual caddie? I thought it did.

Thats a banger. I have about seven I'd like to buy tomorrow. The Sector dial in white on sailcloth strap. The Titanium flyback chronograph on that special edition Nato style strap. The Big Eye with the petro blue dial. The Spirit Zulu GMT with green ceramic bezel and gilt numbers, the Record Chronograph on black crocodile, The 1938 Chronograph on black suede strap, and the classic Tuxedo Chronograph. Now they come out witht this Conquest Chrono which I think I would get on the champagne dial and leave it on the bracelet. I put together a mood board with all of these for design project on symmetry. Longines is just a few more good watches away from being the best watch brand as far as highest number of good dial designs. Not a one trick pony like most Swiss brands right now.

The OSAR is nice but without the tritium indicies and 24hour dial it looks a little “cheaper.” Which it is.

I chose this watch over divers 5 - 6 times more expensive. If you purchase a time grapher for $200, you can regulate this watch to have minimal variances. This is a true tactical diver.

GS dials are beautiful but their bracelet suck. No Tfit. They’re not listening to their customers. Bought one and bought 6 Rolex watches because they are listening to their customers

Wanted a Lorier Olympia for XMas, but when the wife found it unavailable, she picked me up one of these instead. Super excited to get a look at it in the morning! (She got it at Macy's for $470, but used my card, so I have known it was coming since the day she bought it about 3 weeks back) lol. Def seems like a great purchase at about $500!

With your wrist you can probably pull off both but Longines watches typically wear a little larger than their diameter because a lot of their watches have long lug-to-lug distances. I'd go with 39 because it will probably still look nicely proportional to your wrist and smaller size befits the vintage aesthetics better. Plus the original beads of rice just beats other straps IMO. You can always find quality mesh or straps for fair price, but having an original bracelet with a fitted end link is such a plus.
