I have a 92.loose stearing. Rough ride. The design of the linkage to the steering box is very poor. You can replace the whole thing with a new one and it still sucks. I spent 500$ on a new steering box and it was a total waste of money.
5500-7000?? not sure where you found that number for a used engine but you're def way off lol. If the engine was unused or had maybe 50k miles on it you could get 5-6k but certainly not one wil almost 200k on it.
I wouldn't call that overloaded or unsafe....trailer looks plenty strong,very heavy tires, gooseneck pulling is stable,and a strong truck...a dually would be preferable but I've seen way worse....
