I can handle my German shepherd and I’m only 14 yr

I feed my german shepherd in the morning kibble ORIJEN ( 85% animal ingredients of high quality ,15 % fruits and vegetables , but no grains) and in the evening he gets fresh food with main ingredients animal protein and fat. ( varieing some days fish , beef, rabbit,chicken,....). Since this is all very nutricional dense, The portions do not have to be that big. He is 1y 8 months , 40kg ( in perfect shape) male He gets around 230gr Kibble Orijen in the morning and 500gr freshfood in the evening. I went partly to fresh, because for myself, I also went to less grains, les sugar and carbs, less hyperprocessed food towards more healty, more animal fat, more protein, with great succes on my health, so my dog has the same right to fresh foods that fit his nutricional needs.

If you want a dog that bites intruders on instinct, get a jack Russel terrier.

King of the canine world

I wish families who are considering getting a GSD to "protect" the family, would watch this video and take it to heart. GSDs are bred to be WORKING dogs, not family pets. They require much more training than just puppy classes to become good canine citizens. They need a job to do every day, and HOURS, not minutes, of daily training and exercise to be happy and well adjusted. The well-trained seniors can become great companion/pets, but only after their career is behind them and their energy level has slowed down. Every backyard GSD I have ever encountered has been a neurotic and aggressive mess -- because their owner did not understand what these dogs need to be happy and well adjusted. Thank you for posting the specific needs of these wonderful dogs.

They shed all the time. If you a clean freak or like to have nice things or are a positive thinker ( for example I would take my dogs out to the store and leave them in the car 15 min tops and on one of those trips they fucked up my seat belts driver and passenger side, not fully but enough that I have to get them replaced) or have the energy to groom them daily but even with that I tried for a week and gave up they still shedd and then the ones I got are sweet but only to my family because one is ok towards outside people but not to dogs and the other ones does not like other monkeys or dogs and will lounge at them specially dogs. I got both from shelter rescues one 2-5 yes old and other 9months -1yr old they are both mix not pure bred but imagine if they where 100% they probably be more crazy!!!!!!!

We had a German shepherd and we when we went to our chalet we used to buy him a ball every time and he would play with it until he burst it. He was determined to do it. I will always remember that was his favourite thing to do. I miss him so much 😢

I love Dutch Shepherds. I love German Shepherds, too. In fact, I have to confess that I love Malinois as well. The three Western European shepherd breeds are, as far as I am concerned, my favourite breeds in all the world. Having said that, I am kind of a fan of American pit bulls and Anatolians and, gosh, is there anyone on this planet who doesn't like a dachshund? But, getting back to those shepherds, as I see it, it's like this: Put them together, and the Malinois is the brutal enforcer, the Dutchie is the fixer (sneaky but smart and always on the move), and the German is the adult in the room!

I just had mine protect me i went outside to walk her and three rottweiller came out of nowhere and she put herself inbetween me and one of them and they ran away the funny thing is shes only 7 months old and the rottweillers were grown and huge and my shepoard only weighs 45 pounds but she looks much bigger shes got my back and no training has even started on prit3 tion i just give her love and shes given it back

Mine got in-between me and three rottweiller while ago and they all ran but the funny thing is she's only 7 months old and three Rottweilers ran for there lives My baby got my back

If your dog is spayed at the right time, you’ll avoid the mentioned health and temperament issues. That being said, I found everything else the narrator said to be wrong.

I think my GSD is different , he never destroyed any furnitures or digging hole, we have four cats and two birds but never chase them , and he listen to me and my partner. I don’t think i trained him a lot or exercise a lot.( only 30 minutes walk a day) I think because we are so quiet and introvert people and he just like us . And it’s really depends on it’s own personality

I've had both breeds as well as a collie, and border collie. I could never pick a favorite.

My dig is almost allergic to everything I can only feed him roo meat and sardines , sweet potato , pumpkin, carrots, and veggies mix :( I can still feel his ribs 😢

But they were comparing apples with oranges. The only dog that is comparable to the GSD is No. 1, the Malinois. All the others have completely different characters and different tasks.
