Quick setup and flight of the PMDG 737 in MSFS using Simbrief and Pilot2ATC.
In this video, I'm showing how I fly around the world in small hops using the PMDG 737 in MSFS with Simbrief and Pilot2ATC.
While some people may find some interesting information in this video regarding how to set up and fly the mentioned software, this isn't a training video or even a tutorial.
See it as a "this is how I do it" video.
I'm not a pilot, I don't always use proper procedures, but I am hoping some may find something useful in my content.
Enjoy, and keep flying any which way you want!
ps... my excuses for the somewhat loud and obnoxious atc chatter.
I have the recording volume for MSFS set low, but forgot that the chatter is playing through Pilot2ATC.

Train Sim World - Sand Patch Grade multiple train setup.
มุมมอง 2.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Something different today, a video tutorial for Train Sim World 2. I am not an expert, but it took me a while to figure out how to set up a freight train on the Sand Patch Grade properly and wanted to share what I have learned for other people's benefits. TSW 2 is highly realistic but does a bad job teaching how to use it realistically. A lot of information has to come from TH-cam videos and fo...
Exploring the Puget Sound and MSFS in an Icon A5.
มุมมอง 823 ปีที่แล้ว
My first video with Microsoft Flight Simulator in which I explore the beautiful Puget Sound area and the flight simulator itself while flying the fantastic Icon A5. Let me take you on a trip to show you what the new MSFS looks like without any third-party software needed. My apologies for the bad microphone, but the cord on my good one got damaged and I'm using a cheap headset mike instead. Set...

It's been a while, but I've bought myself a 757 and I gave it a paint job! Is it worth $72?.... I'll take it for a flight from Seatac to Paine Field.

From take-off to landing on autopilot with near zero visibility, or "what pilots don't want their passengers to see." It's getting better with each flight! The fantastic ZIBO modded 737-800 steps up the realism and makes the game even more fun! I will fly from KSEA to KPAE again to compare it to the vanilla 737. Another X-plane 11 flight using ATC and autopilot to get in the stock X-plane 737 from Seatac airport (KSEA) to Paine Field Everett (KPAE). This flight will be identical to my previous flight, but I'll be using 124th ATC as a comparison and review. I also found a fix for my autopilot problems! Enjoy! This is a clean install X-plane 11 flight using ATC and autopilot to get in the stock X-plane 737 from Seatac airport (KSEA) to Paine Field Everett (KPAE). I am an aircraft mechanic with many years of experience working on 737's (from -200 to -900) and will try to do a flight as realistic as possible while waffling on about some of the switches in the flight deck. I only have a few hours of exp...

    When flying through the clouds, strobe lights are very powerful reflection. Pilots are advised to turn off the strobe lights to prevent vertigo.

  • @RogerNorse
    @RogerNorse 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    It works fine, but as soon the waypoint switches to ILS, the ATC gives me a new heading and then no more communications, radio silence. I keep following the heading the ATC gave me and i keep going straight, no more coordinates or orders. The only thing i can do is to manually select the next waypoint (the runway), but the only thing the ATC gives me is the heading straight to the RWY, making me fly above the airport. There's no way i can get a working approach from the plugin, like the default ATC does. What can i do? Thank you A LOT, i'm stuck rn :(

    Thanks a lot for the video. Just one small remark that has nothing to do with 124th ATC. You mentioned that there is no airline anymore who is using the call sign Orange. As a matter of fact, there is still one: TUI Fly in the Netherlands.

    • @muskiet8687
      @muskiet8687 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for that! I haven't worked for Air Ho//and since about 2001 and I knew there was a lot of moving around of people and things via Arkefly to TUI Fly, but I wasn't aware they've moved the "Orange" call sign. They don't seem to have their flight number however. Air Ho//and used "GG" and we always joked it stood for "Geen Geld" which is Dutch for "No Money" 😁

    without FMC ??? Ahahahahahaa...

    • @muskiet8687
      @muskiet8687 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well... yes! Programming the route in the FMC for these small direct hops isn't really needed and not the point of the video. Besides... to realistically fly in XPlane using fmc programming and atc together I found I need software like Pilot2ATC, which I use nowadays and will make a video of soon. Programming the fmc and using 124th ATC, especially on these small hops isn't useful since you're either being forced off your programmed route by atc anyway or you'd have to not use atc at all which isn't very realistic either.

    When fueling, the wing tanks are filled first, then the center tank in order to lessen the static stresses on the wing. The center tank is used first in flight, then the wings as a general rule for the same reason, to decrease the wing loading stresses. The center tank is pumped into the wing tanks if the engines feed from the wing tanks, or if the engines feed from a manifold, the center tank feeds the manifold until empty, thereby keeping the wing tanks full until the center tank is empty. Once the center tank is empty it is closed off. In the case of an aircraft that is fuel dump capable it will dump the center first, Some fuel dump capable aircraft are only able to dump the center tank.

    • @muskiet8687
      @muskiet8687 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, the center tank can only be pumped into the wing tanks on the ground by means of the defuel valves which connect the pressure manifold to the refuel manifold, those valves can only be opened on the ground. All fuel pumps have a spring loaded one-way valve of which they have to overcome the spring pressure and the ones for the center tank are a lot less strong than the ones for the wing tank hence, even with identical pumps, the center tank pumps "win" and empty the center tank before the pressure from the wing pumps is strong enough to take over and start emptying the wing tanks. Mind you... my experience is with Boeing planes, other manufacturers may have different design philosophies. You may be right about the stresses. I have been told that the main reason why the wing tanks are the main tanks for a plane with wing-mounted engines is because they are the closest fuel tanks with the most direct path to the engines, it makes sense, but that doesn't mean it's automatically the correct or only answer. I talk to aviation engineers regularly, I'll see if any of them have knowledge of the matter. Either way however, if the wing tanks aren't completely full, there should not be fuel in the center tank, something XPlane doesn't seem to take into account. And regarding fuel dumping, you are correct. I don't know of a narrow-body plane that is capable of dumping fuel in case an emergency landing is nescessary.
