I’d never buy a light phone honestly I didn’t even spend that much on my current phone which is an iPhone 8. I’m considering getting a cheap android and just using it for music. I don’t use Facebook anymore and I’m going to delete messenger today probably. I only check Instagram once a week to check in on one of my brothers and to open any reels friends might’ve sent me. I use messenger to talk to a couple friends still as well as my mom but I’ve told them all that I’m going to get off messenger soon and that they can text me or message me on Instagram. I don’t use TikTok or Snapchat or Twitter so no problems there, but I’m seriously addicted to TH-cam. It’s my biggest downfall
One thing you could do, if you had something to set it up with, is getting a smartspeaker, and hook up stuff like Spotify, you smarthome gadgets, etc., so you can do most thinks off the smartspeaker.
I switch to the Light Phone 2 a while back, could care lest to justify it, I just love to hear why others have switched. I didn't have social media addiction (unless you consider YT) I just made the switch cause well I allowed YT to take most of my time vs reading my books.
I’m thinking about getting my hands on a used MacBook and trading in my iPhone 14 Plus for a light phone 2. I’d like to be able to use my phone for communication strictly. My main problem is navigation
Great video! I started with a Nokia 225 4g for $45 and that was infuriating with the texting, but I enjoyed using a dumbphone so I moved up to the TCL Flip 2 ($20) and I LOVE that phone, though I don't text on that phone despite it being a much better experience. However I recently ordered the LP2 and waiting it's arrival! My husband's had his LP2 for over a year and I've loved "using" it and playing around with it, and figured it's much better for texting as well as meeting some of my other needs.
I got a Nokia flip phone and am waiting for a SIM card to get it activated this week. Pretty excited to disconnect just a bit. I’ve been thinking about doing this for a year now and am ready to take the plunge.
just did this 2 weeks ago, loving it, nobody bothers me anymore cause i told them i will not be texting back due to the t9, and they are scared for some reason to make a phone call.
Nice to hear your take on a smartphoneless life, I've had my dumbphone for a week now and I feel so relieved. There isn't anything poking my back anymore. The only broblem I've run into is buying tickets for public transport, maps and my bank services. Cheers:)
my cat s22 arrives in 2 weeks, what will cost me the most is not having a good quality camera in my pocket all the time, but I know that I will have more time to live and not be in automatic mode scrolling.
If only one company made a compact QWERTY keypad phone with a decent Google Maps (I don't need the full smartphone OS, just a decent map apps would do), then I think I'd be set. Best option would be the last BB Key phone, but that would be too expensive :/
Dude dropped a video got 30+ k views and left the room, this vid is awesome, I have the CAT S22 flip and I love it even more than my Samsung galaxy, it feels special and unique, I feel I'm more in the moment, my attention span has increased, I used to need netflix or anything on the background to be able to work, now I just sit on my chair and code for hours without distractions, trully a life changer
There's a phone called unihertz jelly star. It is a modern smartphone with all the features, even 3,5mm jack and microsd clot. But it has 3" screen. Thinking to get it someday. I'm tired of all that huge modern phones.
the main problem I have is so many apps are available only on mobile, no desktop versions. I use up bank because it helps my ADHD brain manage my finances easier, and it only has a mobile app, they have an API but it only allows you to view your account balances and transactions. you can't transfer money or make payments
1 - it's called speech recognition or speech to text. not text to speech 2 - your experience was bad because you used modern dumb phones which are just an imitation of a long gone past. should use pre 2010 phone instead
About two years my IPhone 8’s battery overheated and fried itself. I needed a quick phone so I went to dollar general and bought a $20 flip phone with a TracFone prepaid deal. I kept it for almost 6 months because I started to like it lol. I might go back to using it
I saw for the Nokia 110 that it is not compatible with phone services like Verizon. I was wondering if you have a different phone company than the main ones? *Maybe I am overthinking this because I have bought smartphones for my Verizon account, but I don’t know if maybe you can just pop a SIM card in and use any dumb phone independently, or how all that stuff works. Thank you!
Nice! I hate how calls for 2fa interrupt my music, definitely gotta fix my ipods. I also hate how things like transit and stores just assume you have a smartphone.. Everything doesn't need an app. Sounds like a good way to declutter my mind..

You didn't say if you friends did the same? Do you talk "normally" now with them?
Yes I still talk with them normally. Just text and calls. I did have one friend join me with this weird phone this month actually!
@@Vanderkin you open your mind and begin to live normally... I support for your decision

So why dumb phone have that name? People who use android phones half day they are dumb... End of story
So it's better to have all that stuff then one thing?
