Green Cow MTB
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 4 ธ.ค. 2023
I am almost 50 years old and doing bigger stuff. I love mounting biking and progressing in the sport. I am based in Cumberland BC but also feature Vancouver Island trails and the occasional bike trip to Vernon, Bellingham, Revelstoke and more! Come ride with me!

37ft Triple on Time Warp

Trust Your Gut!

Ever wonder how accurate Strava is? Well I put my iphone 14 to the test and compare my result with actual timer on the video. Also, Blueprint has some deceptively big jumps!
A New Happy Ending
มุมมอง 340หลายเดือนก่อน
Sphagnum PI in Cumberland BC got a couple of new features at its trails end. This MTB jump trail was given a makeover earlier in 2024 and it was finally capped off with a nice drop and gap jump. Just when you thought this trail couldn't get any better!

Bad MTB Crash!
มุมมอง 4572 หลายเดือนก่อน
Don and I tackle the jumps on Bob's Your Uncle and one of us gets bit! Viewer discretion is advised as it isn't the worst crash you'll see but the audio is what makes me cringe. A big thank you to all the volunteers who are involved with Search and Rescue and our first responders! On a positive note you will find out the best way to walk two bikes out of the woods!

Techy climb and fun decent is Cumberland's Truffle Shuffle. Haven't cleared the Truffle Shuffle climb, I give a few pointers that work for me. As far as the down goes, pretty awesome!

How Does Turd Merchant and A Little R&D Measure Up?
Handled that black diamond like a beast!!!!
That section is a near crash every time
Those jumps get huge on that trail. I gotta get back there! That road gap at the end is huge
Yeah the jumps are pretty good. The road gap is big but super chill
When did you start riding with Remy Metailler?
lol😄
I couldn’t find these trails on Trailforks as mtb. Up the forest service toad it said they are dirtbike. Are these the ones at Bowser?
If you are heading south from Cumberland hang a left on cook creek road. Take your 2nd left down a dirt road that will take you under the underpass and to the parking lot.
Happy birthday Shawn!
I was on the lift going up when your buddy went for it...props for trying. Scared the crap outta me haha
It was epic. It wasn't for not as we know we need more speed! It's on the list for next year! Cheers
great vid bud loved it and yh you guys will get that 38 foot one next year for sure
I have a feeling we will! Thanks for the comment!
i have been looking for this trail where is it?
It’s called Dirty Harry
Hey thanks! Do you know why it's not on trailforks?
Cool trail!
Yeah totally. Not sure why it isn't on trailforks?
I think Bonestorm is a meme from World of Witchcraft
That was one of the meanings I saw when I looked it up. The other was interesting as well but not suitable to put in the video. Cheers!
Or…. th-cam.com/video/50IrgZzQ-g0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Q5AsP1sh7u3f06Cg
You’re inspiring. I have always wanted to clean that Bear Buns climb. Thank you for the great relatable content.
Cheers! Thanks for the kind words. I have been pondering a "tech climb Tuesdays" video series and might just move ahead with it. Thanks again for watching!
8 ft seems a bit short on a bigger Back in Black drop. Is that where you landed or is that just from the top of the wood to the very top of the landing?
Yeah, you can send it farther for sure, but from the take off to the top of the landing its 8ft.
@@GreenCowMTB-sx2ncthat makes more sense. 👍
Either Pity the Fool is really rough or video stabilization got turned off. LOL Thanks for sharing Darrel and crew.
Lol it is rough, but I didn't have the harness tight enough so it was the camera shaking around in the loose harness. I'm still learning. 🙂
How good was it!!😅
@@danilorodriguez6098 so good!😂
Loved the jump over the camera shot!
@@thievingjoker cheers!
Hope he's feeling better dude. I just subbed, I love the local island content. There needs to be ore of that! Also, ive avoided that drop on spitting chicklets for years now because of that rock in the landing? Did you even notice it?
Don is doing better every day thanks! I did notice the rock and actually tried to aim left but ended up landing on it. 😁
@@GreenCowMTB-sx2nc did you you notice it feeling bad when you landed i like the idea of goign straight off that drop as opposed to trying to edge right
@@South_Van_Ilse_MTB honestly didn’t notice it. Not saying that it won’t wreck your rim but my Cush core took the hit. Again I tried to hick right but it didn’t work. Lol
Moisture Sorry if I said it wrong, I'm just Russian
Wya on the island im in campbell river and there is some nice trails
@@Cloud_AYZ I have to check out Lapland up there. Heard there is a decent jump trail up there
@@GreenCowMTB-sx2ncthey have one trail, on the right side in Lapland that has a side by side start platform for two side by side single tracks to race your buddy. If you go past a bit up to the Quinsam trails they have a nice trail that goes along the river on the top of a ridge with a river level clearing on the other side. Always thought it would be a good bear watching platform
Watch out for giant parsnip on that riverside trail
@@GreenCowMTB-sx2nc nah you gotta try commitment issues
@@Cloud_AYZwhere is it at. Give up the deets
Don's a rock star! No one keeping him off a Bike long
Hope he gets better soon!
trail is pretty sick did it the other day its starts at the top of the connecter after u cross going to roller coaster on your right
Where is that?
@@DeeOxsmall Mt Washington on Vancouver island
It's sick seeing you ride but just stupid sending that without pads and no one around, just not the right conditions to send that...
@@roeeeliyahu18 probably right. But in the end I felt comfortable hitting it after looking at all the variables
Oh man this trail looks unreal! I’d love to check it out sometime
When you said just like six pack did you mean six pack in Cumberland!? I live there
Yup. That is where I live as well.
@@GreenCowMTB-sx2nc awesome!!!
Awesome those gaps are huge D.
@@johndelosada5404 yeah, told Sue I wouldn’t do anything bigger but they are built so well! 😜
That's a sick trail!
Yes it is. 😀
How did you get to R&D
dude I know where it is, go left after turd merchant and thats where it is.
how do you get to R&D?
Yeah, after you pop out of Turd Merchant and go right on the road R&D trail head is on your left.
Was a fun weekend up there, I watched the whip off... but too scared to enter lol maybe next year
@@chrisfontaine6221 I was pretty nervous but trusted my nephew who had hit it already that it was fine. Trusted the trail builders too. The hip into the big step up was more technical.
@@GreenCowMTB-sx2nc Ya the hip on the new section of the Wiz is throwing me off, but I finally cleared it last weekend. The vid is great stuff, you guys were ripping WIZ and Time warp etc, it'll help me dial them in. I've been working my way back to my old form, but that ground hurts a lot more 10+ years later and injuries are why I had to give it up in the first place, so I've been taking my time building back slowly but surely lol I'm close to clearing all of lower time warp but not quite, I'm hoping to finally hit the big drops before the season ends
@@chrisfontaine6221 I am sure you will get it by the end of the season! If you see any of us up the Mountain or in Cumberland be sure to say hello and we will shred a lap or two!
@@GreenCowMTB-sx2nc that would be cool for sure, I could def use a tow in for Time warp lol I'm in a white Pest Control truck with a couple bud's
I am also a hater of skinnies.
I wish I had trails like this local
@@Gnoemed where is local for you?
Bro, i hate skinnies too!
Do you hit the brakes at all after the drop to do those jumps?
@@jeffreycrow9326 yes. You don’t need a lot of speed to do the gap jumps. I tap the breaks a little if I have too much speed.
Thanks for this, now I know Dennis the Menace is chill and NOT a BLACK DIAMOND trail. Blueprint is more challenging than those, parts of Vanilla are more challenging.
That is a fun trail, I tend to skip and ride on by on my way to higher portions of the network, must stop by again for a rip. Thanks for sharing.
The last two trails , def black
Agreed - none of those would be black in Coquitlam or on the North Shore! Assuming all the jumps on Lost Wood are as rollable as they looked, all 3 are blue cruisers.
Last one was clearly double black.
@@dustinkneeland4686 😂 yeah, they should put warning signs up.
😂
Dust got ya down did it?
@@jokarainbowarrior5148 yup, has got me a few times this summer.
These distances do not reflect reality or trail speed from what I have seen. Though if true I ok gladly take it haha
Distances do vary depending on speed, but the tape measure doesn't lie. 😄 I use where myself or the group lands.
i just looked up how much 20 feet is in meters, and oh my lord that are some big jumps, atleast for me, it looks like there all only like 3 or 2 meters lol
Camera doesn't do justice sometimes to the size of the jumps. As far as jumping goes, you start with the small jumps and work your way up comfortably at your own pace.
Those distances seem a bit exaggerated.
@@RoosterTail420 the distances are going to vary on most jumps but I have taken a tape measure to all of them.
Nice lap boys!
Missing you out there man.
Conditions are so good right now too!
Haha, love the stoke! Has been a while since i had this feeling
