Unite All Workers for Democracy (UAWD)
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 3 ก.ค. 2020
Unite All Workers for Democracy (UAWD) is a grassroots movement of UAW members united in the common goal of creating a more democratic and accountable union. We believe the rank-and-file must be the highest authority in the UAW, whether at our Conventions, the bargaining table, or on the shop floors of our workplaces across the country.
UAWD advocated for-and won-a One Member One Vote (also known as direct elections) system of electing our International Executive Board. We believe in a transparent leadership who will work in the best interests of and are held directly accountable to the membership of the UAW.

How We're Making Stellantis Keep the Promise
Stellantis committed in our 2023 contracts to invest $19 billion in our plants. Now, they’re going back on their commitments, including their promise to reopen the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois. We’ve seen this before. Over the past 20 years, the Big 3 automakers have closed or sold 65 factories. This time, the UAW is gearing up to do something we have never done before: strike to save jobs.
Backtracking on commitments to reopen Belvidere and build the Durango in Detroit would impact UAW members across Stellantis. That’s why we’re bringing together members who are facing an indefinite layoff from the Toledo Assembly Complex, staring down uncertainty at the Detroit Assembly Complex on Jefferson, and rallying members of their local to stand together against the company’s dividing tactics.

UAWD Webinar - Why are direct elections of International Officers so critical to prevent corruption?
I’m trying to get the number left in the chat to speak with UAWD staff
Are people entitled to information on the grievance as ex) “what is the union bringing in my defense” “was protected activity used in my defense” should questions like those be answered are they obligated to provide those answers as they may be critical for someone to have informed decision making to be provided informed consent?
The grievant is entitled to copies of any grievance (including the filings at each stage if your grievance advances beyond the first step). Also, answers from management must be provided by the union to grievants upon request.
My comments aren’t against you people you seem great and like people working for these things. However GM local 1853 leadership is corrupt and does the opposite of all this, it’s a management dominated shop.
For all of you medical experts out there. The masks we were provided are classified as type-2 medical devices which can cause MODERATE TO SEVERE ill effects ranging from headaches, nausea, excessive sweating, increased heart rates, difficulty breathing etc) sound familiar all the complaints people were concerned with the union COVERED UP! I’ve done all the research necessary to prove the union wrong in that masks did not prevent or mitigate anything and the Union put employees at risk. Read “The book on masks” it’s the most comprehensive analysis on masking. Showing documented evidence including randomized control studies. I have a current charge anaisnt GM UAW local 1853 from the international down. This top down control has to go and the workers need to take control of their union this isn’t Shawn Fains union. HE/THEY WORK FOR US STAY TUNED!!!!!!!! You lose!!!!!!!! Read the GM memorandum of Understanding on health and safety to get my point. You can’t say you’re creating a safe environment while making the environment unsafe at the same time and not look into the safety concerns. ie) ill effects from the mask mandates. How is it the UAW refused to represent this case?

I was fired due GM local 1853 refusing to enforce our contract as well as health and safety. You allowed everyone’s civil, and basic human rights to be violated as well as management to harass and batter employees with their mask mandates. You have to go through the union to get to the corporation now becuse the Tier 1 are too busy protecting themselves the most self serving union ever created. You sound good but in practice it’s all BS!
Question. What is the ultimate goal of the UAWD? For example: How radical are the founders and elected leaders? Are they Socialist who wish to achieve worker full ownership? And to push these ideals outside of the union walls. Or are they capitalist ideologs who just want a larger slice of the pie?
