interesting translyrics! i listened to Lizz Robinet's cover before this, and if you don't mind me asking, what was the inspiration behind turning the last few lines into an implication that the singer is breaking free, as opposed to Lizz's ending of asking the subject of the song to play with them again?
@@parkourse2457 Hi thanks for asking! I hadn’t listened to Lizz Robinett’s cover before making this, but you’re right, her lyrics for the ending of the song are more accurate to the original. I hadn’t consciously intended to change the ending when I first began writing my lyrics, it just kind of happened tbh In the original she says that she’ll stop waiting, but then she says something like “I’m the pierrot you desire, manipulate me as you want.” Maybe I’m missing the point here, but I feel like it’s a little anticlimactic for her to ask to be used right after she just declared that she won’t wait anymore. It’s like you have all this build-up just for nothing to actually change (unless she’s being sarcastic). I wanted the last part to hit hard, so I felt like having her break free would be more impactful as well. This is a little self-indulgent, but I also kinda just wanted to give the singer the happy ending she deserves I don’t typically alter the meanings of lyrics when I make my translyrics (so this song’s a bit of an outlier), but I do like to put my own spin on things when I feel like it makes sense and might even add something to the song!
@ neato! i totally get what you went for, here. i do like your cover better overall, but i have to disagree about Lizz's translyrics being anticlimactic; i think it's more a more poignant ending that the singer still couldn't break free even though she desperately wanted to, though I freely admit that's me milking the inherent tragedy of this song for all it's worth in my head. thanks so much for the cover! i didn't expect eleanor forte to sound *this* sad, and I think with a bit better tuning this could really be the perfect english cover of Karakuri Pierrot, but it's amazing as is. keep cooking, yo! you're doing wonderfully.
