At 7:20, macaque laying on the ground. Is it the same pose when he was defeated by possessed sun wukong?
@@muhammadahlamifakharuzzama6286 Yea.Probably cause this season reuses a lot of animation frames. It's kinda intentionally funny for me tho,it's like he's getting a signature defeated pose like Yamcha 😭
1:22 look at the background
When I was reading the Journey to the West book I noticed that the nine-headed demon basically vanished after his fight with Wukong which makes me wonder did he somehow find away to escape the cycle and make his way into the new cycle that is Lego Monkie Kid...... I find it very interesting because him and wukong have met and have fought one another but in lego monkie kid wukong doesn't even know who he is....if my cycle theroy is corret then the nine headed demon must have dond this twice First in the original book with there fight befoe he jumps to the next cycle Cycle 1: he became friends with wukong somehow Cycle 2: where we are now with lego monkey kid If anyone has any info to back this up please let me know cause this would be really interesting going forward in the series.
only thing is Monkey King remembers his journery to the west so maybe he's done it twice and doesn't remember one of those times where he met the nine headed demon...?
@@gracekim25 but Wukong says he doesn't know who he is
Did y’all know it’s not that steak dude has macaques voice
Fun fact: Xiangliu is voiced by Matt Mercer.
Am I wrong or is the animation low budget?📉
@@metakron yea they changed studios
I noticed as well
We technically saw him in season 4

… Ok, So here me out-
I like how instead of reacting as if they remember he treats it like a realist would, expecting his reveal to be anticlimactic?😂
XIANGLIUS THE TRANFORME UM MONSTER SNAKE
I wish his final line was "You just opened the cage, The Sun will come to you"
it's high noon somewhere in the world
Que pedo crei que era mujer
Voice actor is outstanding
He is probs the most underrated villain ever, the literal definition of villains are made not born. In a sense I’m glad that he actually got what he wanted, cuz like he only wanted to go back to chaos and that’s literally it he didn’t fight for shit. Give this guy more love omg
All I gotten from Xiangliu is that he’s a shady anti hero given the fact of his whole notion of freedom he’s been throwing about likes Eren Yeager (mind you I’m baked)
I don't see a villain in this guy, I see a very good guy
@@vito6197 Unfortunately, that can be applied to almost all major villains in LMK.Macaque that became a terrorising demon because Wukong killed him,Azure Lion that said he fought the celestial court because they don't care about mortals, even LBD to some extent cared about mortals at first then she gave up and tried to hit the restart button. I personally see him as pretty similar to Wukong,a chaotic rebel character that defies the authority.Kind of morally grey, except that he manipulated someone with a disturbed mind on purpose (man, this kid's show keeps adding more Machiavellian people huh). That and his vague backstory made him seem to not be a villain.
A: Did he mean Monkey King doesn't remember a different cycle? Like Undertail? B: He's a hypocrite. If he cared about freedom of choice than he would've let them stay in the cage. Why couldn't he just leave? Nobody was going to miss him, what about the chaos was so wonderful that he was okay with evrything ending? Because I certainly didn't see the appeal.
@@alyssamontgomery2978 May I add the fact that he acts like he's being a saviour from Nüwa's rule or a tiny victim of her but he's actively manipulating everyone from the shadows? Fooling all the deities by taking Zhuanlun Wang's place, orchestrating the destruction of reality, while knowingly manipulating someone whose mind is disturbed! There's no way he doesn't know what he's doing, yet he acts like he's just acting in response to Nüwa's doing & acts like it's justified. My theory is that this guy is so old & has been doing this for too long that he loses his moral compass & only puts priority on reaching his goal, just like LBD who gave up on humanity.Either that or he's just really screwed up.
The animation looks really bad for some reason, guess they blew all of their budget on the season 4 finale.
@@innertails9584 no they switched studios that’s why the animation looks different
Nah they hoeing Son wukon
6:12 i feel like this is gonna become a ship
@@Its_Sereia it already is
I know he's a villain but I not only love his character design, I also love his character. Kinda creepy but anticlimactic, yeah?😏. Whoever's reading this knows I'm talking about the Emissary, Xiangliu
Ok did they get greenlit for making another season of this I am there are obviously some holes that need to be filled like how he and wukong know each other, how he knows about macque power and who the mysterous he was talking about
He talks about he and wiling were friends but wiling doesn’t remember a thing. And macaque made a deal with someone which macaque doesn’t remember either. I think both of their memories were wiped or a certain portion of their memories were erased. That’s why they both were confused
they mention something about cycles
10:56 Brief Villainous Breakdown
When xiangliu said that macaque made deal with someone, but who? Probably not lady bone demo, nor normal demon, someone more powerful...?
I have a theory, that this is one of the demons that still wasnt in the show. Macaque's probably Shadow powers are also chaos powers. My guess is that Macaque made a deal with Hun Dun, and Xiangliu with the demon from the same group (the four evils), Tao Wu. I know that Hun Dun represents chaos, but its more possible that he wasnt the one who made a deal with Xiangliu. Cuz the one who did that was Tao Wu (Tao Wu represents stubbornes, AND AS WE SEE, NINE I KINDA STUBBORN.) Probably, Macaque did a deal when he and Wukong was friends, and also there was no brotherhood. Imo, he did it so Wukong wont be the one who always deals with everything. So he made a deal, and his fur from white changed to black, cuz this was the thing he hated most about himself, being Wukong's shadow:D
@@Mintenya-ft8us Pretty sure that's Cherrlyo's theory.
I liked that the villain is just some dude.
WHY Azure 😭
I feel like he's a weird father figure to MK, idk, I'm getting a vibe from it
@@gheata_playz874 I mean I guess? In a really screwed up way.He was after all the guy who hatched MK early before he gets yoinked by Wukong & Pigsy. And I can see that Wukong & Nine Heads is kinda similar cause both want MK to make his own choice since both characters are rebels that value freedom above all.
Reminds me of the scene from earlier in the season where he suspects that the Serpents represent his many dads.

@@lazylass2309 Oh *totally* Yeah sure he sounds like a nice guy and talks smoothly, but in a really maniacal way. Especially with "Poor, broken Azure",like this guy *KNOWS* that Azure's mind is totally screwed and treats him like a mere chess piece in his bloody game
@@claudius3359 Like, I fully expect him to be like "drink the chaos koolaid"
@@lazylass2309 Like at least LBD still has a cartoon villain maniacal behavior and Azure behaves like you would expect a (Machiavellian) warrior would, like "I really don't wanna kill you,but I have my cause to accomplish." This guy is straight up,"It's going to blow up to smithereens, isn't that great?🥹" vibes. It's like Wukong's "I'm gonna overthrow you for fun, isn't that great?" but worse cause he totally believes and thinks through all of the things he says & does.Like he said, everybody keeps calling Wukong 'chaos',but he's the OG.
Bro said prince consort and my brain went "THIS LOKI FLAVORED MEDUSA TWINK IS MARRIED? TO ROYALTY???"

You get the feeling Macaque might have touched or met this guy before and thats where his shadow powers come from? Cause this guy is manipulating shadows as well. Just a little stronger and more refined in their use.
I don't know, it might be similar different colors, but different powers.
Curse my dirty mind 😭🙏
It’s possible they may have made a deal with the same person for their powers?
@@jfb173jb I wonder if it's the same case as Macaque learning the same powers Wukong acquires under Subodhi with his ears like in the book. Dude Wukong's right, this guy *does* get the bootleg versions of people's powers.
@@GodzillaInHellforbeingHIMlil bro why 😭😭😭😭
Is it weird that for a villain, he speaks a lot like a good guy. I mean, he’s bad obviously, but if we didn’t see his actions, some of his words would seem heroic. I mean, his backstory where he gave up freedom to help his friends who were extremely unappreciative, him saying he woke up MK so he could have more, him saying he wants people to embrace the “chaos” that makes them who they are instead of staying in a cage, even him wanting MK to have a choice on whether or not he sacrifices himself. This villain, as little as he was involved in the season, he actually seems to have some small form of humanity in him. Not much, but compared to some of the other villains who just kill, kill, kill, that is kinda of an upgrade.
I think that’s the point. It’s like the saying goes: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” I think it’s a way to show how anyone could become a villain given the right (or rather wrong) circumstances. Another thing is that Xiangliu might have thought he was doing the right thing but in reality he was doing more harm than good. (Much like Azure in season 4) Overall, I think that’s what makes Xiangliu so compelling (to me at least.)
@@hugecartoonfan I am so confused of NHD past and plan like is he from a cave or the chaos from the season finale? and destroying the universe would help him get back home or something???
@@Zetagator-yw7kv I could happily explain it to you. In his past, he lived in the cave with other people, the ones who feared the unknown. However, one day, he ventured into the unknown and he loved it. But despite his love for it, he went back into the darkness to bring his friends with him because as he said, “He couldn’t just abandoned them.” He told them to come with him and they called him monster because they were too scared of the unknown. They stayed and he got trapped with them, all because he went back. That’s why he says, “I’m done trying to be a hero”, that’s why he woke MK up an eon early, that’s why he cared so deeply about MK being able to make his own choice about whether or not he sacrifices himself, the nine-headed demon’s whole motivation is freedom and free will. He wants everybody to break free from their cages and live however they want, something he lost when he went back for his friends.
That's exactly what the fallen hero archetype is for. Its one of my favorite villain types.
@@ashgreen3646 But in the season finale, He said he's been gone a long time when he reached to the sea of primordial chaos. He also said someone is winning and that MK opened the cage. He did say he is xiangliu AKA the minister of gonggong, the same water god that broke the pillar of heaven and destroyed the universe
