@@GrowthGuided yep. But the regular immigration lines for families are much shorter than they used to be with most people over 18 using the EGates. If you are landing into T2 there are no EGates there yet.

@@GrowthGuided Unfortunately, I can't really tell you per night because it depends on availability and time of year as well as occupancy levels. You can sometimes get a better deal upgrading at the check-in desk, rather than through a travel provider, but if it were me, I would book the room I am ok with just in case no upgrades are available. I doubt bribing the check-in staff would work. There are cameras and I'm sure they wouldn't want to lose their job.

@@charleschoi2434 we didn't have to wait long on our arrival day. Club Mobay is a great service but pricey if you don't have it as part of your credit card airport lounge benefits. Here is some info about it and what they offer as well as costs. www.vipattractions.com/

Oh! One more thing....be sure to book club Mobay in advance if you want to use them. Because they limit the number of guests, they tend to sell out quickly.

@@newtravelescapes Thanks again, I have priority pass and reserved lounge for departure, paid $10 for me and wife; but still on the fence about getting the VIP service on arrival where they meet you at the gate and walk you through "fast lane" for immigration and customs...I believe its $100 for both of us... !

@@fredi4113 I just went through Terminal 2 in June 2024. As you can see from the Terminal 2 Cancun Airport video we had no problem and we were through and out in under 30 minutes. All of our videos are showing our experiences going through and you can see the crowds/lines and they are always different depending on time of day and number of planes having just landed. I am certainly not savvy enough, nor do I care enough, to AI generate a fake airport video without lines to convince someone to go to Mexico. Vacation wherever you like. If you think Cancun is bad avoid Turks and Caicos or Dubai or Singapore or Sydney or Punta Cana or Bali. In my experience those immigration lines are much more strict than CUN.

@@davidng407 Hi David! No, this isn't a former Secrets but the former Secrets Capri (now Hyatt Zilara RM) has a similar staircase. It is expensive!! For sure! Excellence does tip the scales on pricing. It is definitely better than most but whether they are 'double$$ better' is up for debate. 😜 We got a deal on this trip booking almost a year in advance through Expedia. If I couldn't find a good deal then there are a lot of other great options out there to choose from. 😃

@@davecurry3322 I hear ya! We actually booked this last November for our trip last week. We paid $1900 CAD through Expedia. Mind you, it is hurricane season. 😜 We haven't been able to package it with AC or WestJet very well at all. We also booked both Excellence properties in Punta Cana for May 2025. A year in advance seems to be the only way we can reasonably book these properties.

@@newtravelescapes Wow $1800 Canadian I would do anytime of the year. I’m looking for April 2025 and they want $3250 Canadian per person a week on Avion. Expedia is $4000 per person. I use to pay $2300-$2400 per person for January before Covid and my last trip there in 2023.

@@davecurry3322 wow! Yes, at some point they just price themselves out of contention. They are great but not double $ great. Sometimes booking the room alone through Excellence can be decent with a promo code and then use points for flights. Keep an eye out. You never know when a deal might show up.

I agree! It is a really stupid tax law. Other countries charge it before you enter the State. Why they decided to try and implement this tax after you are done with your vacay is strange to me. It is the law but I expect it leaves people with a bad last impression.

​@newtravelescapes Very much so. If you buy something from say the US and bring it back to Canada, then I can see that and it is very clear before the transaction. Countries that try this sneaky tax particularly Mexico, then they are just hurting themselves in the long run

@@darylsage1618 It's totally up to what you are comfortable with. I pay it the day before we leave our home country because I'm more comfortable using my own wifi. I also don't pay it too early because if plans change you can't get your money back. 🙂

@@slhey4308 yes, it is an additional building that will basically double the size of Ha'. Our room was on the third floor in the building nearest the construction and we didn't find it too bad. If you look at the walk through video when we are up at Ruf, you can see the new building going up. If you request the building with Ruf on the top floor and you will be furthest away from the construction. Hope that helps! 🙂

@@LoL_Lolovitch I'm not sure why you insist it is a scam. Do a search for yourself and honestly investigate whether or not this is the law for visitors to the State of Q.Roo. For us, when we are guests in another country we will follow their laws. Whether I agree with them or not. I don't fly into any Australian airport with food -even food from the plane. I don't bring chewing gum into Singapore. I pay the Visitor tax of 150 000 IDR as a visitor to Bali and the Visitor tax charges per night for visitors in Dubai. Cancun is not the only one with a tax like this. It IS however the WORST implemented tax I have ever encountered. I do understand why some choose to think it is a scam but if you actually do some research you might find it isn't.

@@newtravelescapes Catalonia is just ok We have only been to the Maroma beach one and the side by side sister resorts Catalonia Yucatan and Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras I would consider them budget options They are all older and in need of some major room upgrades but the locations are great Catalonia Maroma is nicer with a great beach and it's half the cost of the Secrets next door We like the old style Spanish look of the buildings but the resort requires a fair amount of walking along a central path through a mangrove forest from the lobby to the pool and restaurant area and beach The Maroma resort really caters to European guests They actually have entertainment team members from Europe that seem to be assigned to the guests They pretty much ignored us which was ok One thing to be aware of at Maroma is that they are very environmentally conscious so the wildlife is out of control There are literally hundreds and hundreds of coatis everywhere and they are quite aggressive around the food areas and pool This might not be ok for many people but the monkey with its baby hanging around the lobby in the morning was different lol Food was good not great and drinks were typical nothing measured just tossed into plastic cups

@@jignamehta5854 Kalido is usually the least expensive but they sell out quickly. The rest are all usually within a out $5 of each other. Taxis are very expensive and ride shares are not allowed in the airport yet. The Ado buses are about $2 pp.

We didn't use Mobay Club this trip. We were through the airport quickly with Seasons Transfers and didn't have a need for it. I do believe you can book it through Dragon pass or Priority pass for your departure. I believe you need to book it online in advance for arrival.

It seems to depend on which country you're coming from. I have no idea why. 🤔 In UK, Jamaican consulate says "valid for the duration of your stay". In Canada, Jamaican Consulate says "valid for 6 months". Check to be sure you are following whatever is applicable for your country.

Hi! In 6 trips we have never found it difficult to get an a la carte reservation for each night of our stay. When you arrive, after you check-in, you can book two nights worth of reservations at a time with the restaurant concierge. We were able to dine at every restaurant on the property, we just needed to be flexible on which days we did it. Ventus Ha' lobby is a two minute walk to the Ventus' Il de France restaurant and maybe 3 minutes to Mercado de Dolores. The Italian restaurant at Hotel Marina is right by Mercado de Dolores. Maybe a 6 -8 minute walk to the other Hotel Marina restaurants by the main pool and in the lobby. La Marina is a bit of a hike so we take the golf cart to that one but if it is a nice night it is an easy walk along the beach to the Marina restaurant. You can always call a golf carte to drop you at any restaurant you want. Ventus and Hotel Marina are both on the beach. From our room at Ventus Ha' to the Ventus' beach it was a 5 minute walk. Hope that helps a bit ☺️

It depends on what you value most for your vacation and who you are travelling with. For food: Iberostar Grand (Joia) was the best out of the three. Activities: VIRM Luxury: Grand and TRS Rooms: TRS Pool: VIRM Beach: Grand Personally, if it is just my husband and myself I like the Grand. It is luxury and relaxing and no up sells for 'extras'. When we travel as a group ranging in age between 20-50, the Grand may be too boring. Then Valentin is a good pick for activities but TRS is also pretty good with activities and the drinks at the pool and the beach are much better at TRS than those at VIRM. Hope that helps a bit.

I don't believe Uber is allowed to enter the airport arrivals area. They may be able to drop you off but not pick you up. Taxis are outrageously expensive at CUN arrivals. There is the ADO bus that is about $2. You could also walk out of the airport until you get to an airport hotel and see if you can call an Uber from there. They may be able to pick you up from the Hilton Garden Inn or one of the other ones. Hope that helps a bit ☺️

@@KS-wl2rq Thanks! Not really a pop in for food but they often have a pop-up taco or nacho cart outside by the main pool during lunch hours. There is room service that is really handy if you have a room on the beach or ground floor beside the pool. It was less than 5 minutes from the Joia lobby to the coffee shop at the Maya. Not far at all. In the mornings, at the lobby bar they have coffee and pastries set out early to grab and go. Hope that helps 😊

A stupid one, for sure, but still a law. 🥴 There are reader boards in the airport about it at baggage claim and again in the departures lounge. I choose to pay it but it makes no difference to me at all if others choose not to. It is a ridiculously stupid tax imo.

@@victoriathomas721 We were there last Fall. We had no problem finding a chair by the beach most times of day. We tend to go back and forth between pool and beach. Usually beach in the AM and pool in the afternoon for activities. They don't skimp on the amount of beach seating.😊
