It really comes down to what your metric is for what a good drummer is, and that’s subjective. If we’re going for a rudiment contest? Brooke wins that. If you are judging based on personality energy and passion while playing? It’s Faith. The real and only metric that matters is who is the best drummer for the band. Who has the best chemistry with the other members etc, again, it’s Faith. I saw Plush live for the first time the other night and I really got to finally see and hear Faith live and in person. I was about 20’ from her, and I can tell you, she is a monstrous drummer. Her double bass work might not come across on the cell phone vids we see on TH-cam, but as a drummer and guitar player for nearly 50 years myself, I can tell you, she’s intense, and powerful. Her speed is blinding when she flips the switch which she doesn’t do often in Plush. Brooke is a great drummer, and Faith is a different, but also great drummer. Faith is the right drummer for Plush and Brooke will be the right drummer in a different band sometime. By the way, she was supposed to have new material out by now, and it’s a no show. I don’t blame her, but I wish she’d get with a good band or gig so we can enjoy her style and talent. Meanwhile, let’s all enjoy the greatness of Faith on the drums, and by the way, she is an absolute sweetheart of a person when you meet her. Humble and endearing.
