You should never go in a cave alone or with no one outside aware in case you get into difficulty.
Not a "cave" , ancient ruins. The PD is covered in them. Lovely video though :-)
Cheers 👍
Really enjoyed the video, really good , like the solitary rambler videos
Cheers for watching bud. Appreciate the comment and comparison the to solitary rambler.
Some years ago there was a plan to reconnect the route from Rowsley to the end of the Monsal trail, then at the last minute the landowner of the section withdrew consent :(
I remember hearing that from a guy from Peak Rail. Last I heard they were still keen to push ahead with it, but there are some major engineering difficulties getting across the A6. Who knows, maybe some day it will happen
You should try the other side of Hall Dale. I did video of it last year. Mini padley gorge especially in autumn
Nice one, cheers Marv. I'll check it out and try and get up there this autumn 👍
Always love to 'walk with you' ~ carry a n doing what you love! X🎉
Thanks Jane :) x
@@walkinderbyshire Great film ,How long did it take you please? Looking at running it soon - Thanks

Cracking route that, never even knew about Ladygrove and the reservoirs. Best video yet bud 👍
Fascinating, so much history down there. Looking forward to our August hike mate 👍
Loads to see around there mate. Can't wait for our hike 😊
Great walk that mate..i think Brassington is outside the Peak park...crazy as it's such a scenic area...never been to Rainster rocks, they look great, will have to check them out sometime...like you say "Parwich is stunning"..enjoyed that mate
Thanks Steven. Got lucky with the weather 👍
Quite a challenge...i know many of those paths...might try this one day, although it would take me twice as long as you
It was a great route, Steve. Good luck if you attempt it!
This makes me exhausted just watching you :-)
It was tough up those hills 🥴
Greg and I are just chatting about last weekend and what we’d do different if there’s a next time. We’ve decided that not being mid 40’s who I’d be the best bet…. In our minds, we won the seniors category 😂 Thanks for getting me out and walking again!
Haha. Next time I'll bring optional walking sticks for the older guys. Glad you are back out walking again. Catch you next time ps that was the warm up 😊
Absolute cracking day. Thanks Leigh & Laura. Can’t wait until the next one!
Cheers Paul! 😊👍
Great challenge mate, gutted I couldn't make this one. Count me on the next one 👍
Cheers son. Next time!

Fantastic...A real good day out
Cheers Steve
We're up there in August for a week, our first visit and really looking forward to it. I hope we get similar weather. Thanks for the pointers.
Me and the wife had a proper 7-day break there a couple of weeks back and we loved it. Enjoy :)
Good vid. Just found your channel. I'm up this way very soon. I'm doing more in England this year, be cool to see you do a few in Wales. Liked and subbed. Thanks for this video👍
Cheers Jamie. Love Wales - just been enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work!
@walkinderbyshire Think I'm up there Friday for camp. I'm in work now. Catch up on a few of yours later. Keep walking 🚶🏻♂️😉👋
Great video Leigh. I know many don't like Monk's Dale as it's hard going with all those rocks, but I love it especially when it opens out further down. Thanks for showing us around the area above the lime kilns too, a lot of interesting stuff there 👍
Thanks Patrick! Hope you are doing OK. Looking forward to catching up soon
How did they know there was lead there
Hiya,I enjoyed that walk, especially passing the limestone way, as reminisced like you ,when I walked it too, the stream was running high, cheers Andy
Thanks Andy. Hope your knee improves 🙏
As someone who may have De Thick ancestors I am glad you took a detour in the Manor and chapel. The family were from South Derbyshire and one of daughters married into the family who owned Codnor Castle at the time. The East Midlands had powerful families back when the Tudors were in charge.
Sounds like a fascinating bloodline
Erewash my neck of woods. Born strelly village. And finally walked the Bennerley Viaduct other week. Managed to do vid on it. Even without was a great walk
It's not bad around there is it Marv? My mum is from Strelley, born and bred. Love the viaduct - a real gem along the Erewash Valley
@@walkinderbyshire agrees. you mum will know the rose and broad oak pubs lol
Definitely 😏
Only just come across the vid mate. I'm back up and running in peaks all beIng we)) this weekend.
Enjoy, and keep up the good video work. I'm up Buxton way tomorrow...
@@walkinderbyshire lucky you lol I'm just gonna be wandering through fields lol
You missed a treat by passing the holly bush at make neee
Next time I'm up that way, I'll drop in on your recommendation. Thanks for the pronunciation pointer
T'riffic
Love this because 50 years ago I helped to clear the entrance to this mine , I was with a chap called Les from Chesterfield and a chap called Ron who I belive owned the mine , we would work then go to the Pig of Lead inn for a pint a treat for me as I was under age , happy memories.
Great video Leigh. I enjoyed this as I love the area where you walked, especially Dethick. Bit quieter than the Peak District and it's just as nice I reckon. Glad you enjoyed your walk 👍
Cheers Patrick... I had a great day off! Nearly pinged you a message to see if you were about and fancied an ale, but being a weekday, I assumed you would be working - next time I'm up that way if you are about 👍
Wish I could have joined you on this one bud, looks like a mega interesting route. Love those eerie, misty ones.
Next time mate you're up, let's do one of these walks, with a pub finish!
Electric motor drlving engine now maybe 🤔
Yeah, no steam in sight
Very interesting
Awesome share.
Thanks 👍
Excellent video, amazing views. New friend here.
Walked past this quite a few times, need to go and see it running.
Definitely worth a visit on one of their open days. Middleton Top engine house is also worth a visit if up that way.
Nice to see all those familiar places linked up on a trail. Jealous of that pint mate 🍺
Good going Leigh, 31 miles is a great day's walking. Nice to see the Erewash Valley Trail, not familiar with that route at all really. All the best 👍
Cheers Patrick. I got lucky with the weather
Smashed it....hats off to you !!
Cheers Steve
Ehup mate. From Heanor to Notts via the Erewash Canal and Trent River is my weekly bike ride. Nice and flat. Cheers for the vid.
Nice bike ride that mate! Thanks for the watch and comment.
Impressive to do that in one walking. Do you do LDWA events? Didn't know about the Pentrich. Those trails can get jammed in places at weekends and bank holidays but usually pretty empty.
Thanks for the comment 😊. I've been on the LDWA website quite a few times looking at the different long distance paths across the UK, but I wasn't aware they did events - I'll check them out.
Nice to see that you have idiots with paint cans too.
think it's a constant clean up job there unfortunately
Merci !😊
Very interesting, thank you.
Wow, I did not know about this! Thank you for sharing.
I really enjoyed this wonderful video with my hot ☕chocolate. debs xx ......
Cheers Debs 😊
This was great Leigh! You got some interesting footage inside the pump house. I went inside it about 12 years ago - seem to remember the guy in the red boiler suit you were talking to 😄 Nice one, thanks for sharing 👍
It's great inside isn't it? Amazing to see it all working like clockwork. Also did Middleton Top engine house on the same day - highly recommend that too if you haven't done that one. Thanks for the watch and comment, and hopefully catch you soon on another hike/social 😊
Proper memorable hiking weekend, blessed with the weather. My top tip: Don't follow anyone who has been on the Blue Moons all night 😮💨
Great weekend. Shropshire is a hidden gem. And the weather was perfect. Bring on the next one!
Great upload, fab walk and love the fact you add the maps also, super useful. Defo, a walk I will have a go at replicating, and especially having a cheeky one in the Moon pub, as my friends family had that pub probably 40 years ago/ish. Many thanks for taking the time to share this!
Cheers Paul appreciate the watch. Love the Moon Inn - such a nice pub. Thanks for the sub also. New hiking videos coming soon 👍
Great video Leigh, enjoyed your walk through Coombs Dale, lovely looking dale. Great that you found the quarry used as a location for that train stunt in Mission Impossible. Not heard of Cucklet Church before but that cave system looked amazing! Thanks for sharing Leigh 👍
Cheers Patrick. We must meet for a hike soon - it's been too long
Fascinating, such an interesting walk.
Thanks a lot 😊
