Highlights from the life of a Nature Reserve Manager, Volunteer Lifeboat Coxswain and Family man who knows how everyday life will soon become a golden era. Based in the UK Forest of Dean and Wye Valley documenting personal unplanned adventures on my doorstep.
Mullion Cove idyllic Cornish harbour hotel
My favourite place to escape. Cornish coastline is unmatched, cliff wildflowers are stunning and whilst the journey is usually protracted with roadworks or jams, its worth all the effort.
Had planned to launch from this coastline for a solo PWC adventure but previous inconsiderate jet skiers have set a precedent to ban teh launch of all PWC's from local slipways and harbours.
It's not the craft but the rider that causes issues - the mantra to follow is 'don't be a dick'.
Still Mullion is a dream whether ski-ing, snorkeling, surfing or sitting.

Finally the weekend arrives and for once this autumn its a glorious day. Time for some River Wye Therapy kayaking the tide up to Tintern and back. Drone catching on a kayak was more challenging than i expected.

Homeless bat needs a new place to live
มุมมอง 3246 หลายเดือนก่อน
Fortunate to have many bats in my area to fly over the garden at night most roost in caves, but this one needed a space in my loft. it’s illegal to handle bats unless intervention is needed for their welfare. This bat decided to roost in full sun so needed a little shelter and alternative accommodation. Some bats carry TV so gloves are encouraged but not it’s your choice.
IPhone 15 Pro lost for days in the Brecon Beacons with no signal - Search & Rescue training
มุมมอง 456 หลายเดือนก่อน
Never expected to lose an iPhone especially with the 'Find My' service that can show the location of all Apple devices - except when there is no cellular signal to share that info back to your other devices. 4 days later somehow a location was updated and the search restarts for a pricey iPhone 15 Pro that hundreds of people have walked past on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend prior.
Sea-Doo FishPro adventure to walk the dog on the mid channel sands of the Severn Estuary
มุมมอง 1317 หลายเดือนก่อน
When you set off to have a morning on the jet ski and find the dog has planted itself on the passenger seat of the truck when you weren't looking so he wouldn't be left behind - didn't see it as workable but what a great day i had with my best pal :)

Only half day of sunshine forecast on a bank holiday weekend, so time to chill with the River Wye to myself. various finds along the way heading towards the promise of a chocolate doughnut on teh shores of Tintern Abbey.

Seadoo FishPro 155 wakeboarding and Mavic Pro 2 drone filming attempt

The follow me function could be great but can struggle to track small objects against water like wake boarders who start part submerged. The challenges arre keeping track of the drone whilst also watching your wakeboarder. Keeping teh controller dry and visible from the PWC. Spring tides on the river severn lift a lot of debris from river banks that also needs careful monitoring and of course d...
Roboflail gorse control trial on open habitat nature reserves.

A go anywhere machine that tackles gorse, bramble and even small birch trees. Forest ditches, boggy ground and hidden rocks are no hindrance. Very robust and agile. Hammer flails don't leave the cleanest cut but priority was ground protection to minimise any disturbance. Fragmented blocks of gorse ensures opportunities for lower plants such as heathers and good conditions for ectotherms to bask...

How to anchor your SEADOO with a Cooper Blue Anchor demo and review
มุมมอง 1.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Looking for a decent anchor for your PWC that doesn't leave rust stains or chip you hull, limited space but need maximum holding power? I was in teh same position and researched this anchor from Australia. Plough type buries itself deeper under load and easy to recover from sands and muds beds. Remember it's not all on teh anchor but teh 'scope' (ratio of water depth to anchor line) you use and...

Beautiful footage wow 🤍
Is Beachley slip any good for a Rib? Is there somewhere to park a trailer?
The small car park near the slipway is owned by the lifeboat station - they make no charges but space can be unpredictable, especially for a large trailer/car combo but mid week is your best bet. Don't be tempted to park and prepare a boat on the slipway, plenty do and its really bad etiquette creating obstructions for others launching/recovering.
👍🙏

Great work man
Thanks for taking care of the little fella :)
Where is it you launch your ski from under the bridge is that hessle under the Humber bridge ? Love the video !
A very similar bridge to the Humber but this one is other end of UK. First Severn Crossing over the River Severn between Bristol and Chepstow, The slipway beneath teh bridge is from the days when ferry was the only way across teh River Severn. Built so well its still stands despite zero maintenance!
That was great! Hopefully many more days of sun and flat seas around the corner!
That looks like it would hold an aircraft carrier lol
How would you rate this resort compared to others youve been to in Austria ? Im deciding now whether or not to try Alpbach .
sorry never been to alps prior but i found Alpbach bus to ski lift a pain and slopes busier than i expected. Not many eateries so stuck with hotel grub. Overall i would find somewhere i could walk to ski lift with a bit more options for apres ski time :)
Thanks for the honesty. With that in mind I think ill stick to the three resorts I know and enjoy...Seefeld , Saas fe and Lech am arlberg . Happy skiing .@@charliefourzero
Tents are like AR-15's, owning one just isn't enough.
Great Video, Use Cooper Anchors for our skis, always hold great.
Promo`SM ☺️
Why?
How and stable and quick is this? Does it track ok? Thanks
not got much much experience comparing to sit in kayaks (i capsized too easy!) but a friend was quicker than me in his 19070 banana looking thing, just meant i had to paddle harder but certainly easy to keep on track.
Great video. I stayed there once in the 1980s on my first motor trip around the southern part of the UK. I think it was called Mortenhampstead back then but very posh and elegant. I'm glad to see it is just as nice noe, maybe nicer, Would be fun to return.
They couldn't use a better designed fuel tank. The tech is already there. That's pretty disappointing because I'm sure that gas can was like $60
I’ve just bought my first sea doo explorer pro and I love it. The sea is now my second home.
nice, how's that windscreen working for you?
Yes Hot Tub Time machine is a wicked film. I'm thinking of doing the same thing for my 50th next year.
Footwells seem to hold a lot of water. Did you have scupper plugs in ?
doesn't come with plugs, kayak is pitched towards idiot proof market! so you just get a bit wet rather than tip :)
Pardon my ignorance, where was this filmed? Canada? UK or USA? Love the highlands. We have Texas Longhorns here.
UK Forest of Dean :)
Hi meet you the other week on the slipway
Hi Gareth, i've not been out since, bit chilly! How about you?
Hi been out once from penarth up to llantwit magor area as it was choppy out there . Hopefully get out over over xmass , in the winter we try to get out at least once month to give the skis a run . In the summer we go from penarth to porlock area stop at watchet marina, park up and get some food , then ride back along the coast to Weston area , then back over to penarth , I also sort out rides to other places teignmouth, brixham and Weymouth we did this year
YES I MUST SAY I LIKE THE REGULAR REVIEW A GUY DEMONSTRATION OF THIS VIDEO AS OPPOSE TO PROFESSIONAL RIDERS JUMPING AND STUFF I MEAN WE GUYS MIDDLE AGE WELL IM 60 YEARS OLD ANYWAY.
HELLO IM CURRENTLY THINKING OF ORDERING THE SAME BIKE. WAS YOU LOOKING AT OTHER BIKES BEFORE ORDERING THE CANNON ?
HI LOVE YOUR VIDS. have a seadoo myself, the sea scares me to death but i'm going this year....what vhf radio do you use..... thanks.....safety in mind above all
icomuk.co.uk/ic-m73euro/handheld-vhf-marine-radio Icom M73. it's the profession end of recreational VHF, doesn't float unfortunately but small details such as loudness ensure i can just about hear a broadcast.
Put an helmet ...
Dream bike, congrats and enjoy
Nice helmet.
A bit mellow for the helmet, i don’t wear one when i run in the Forest either. There’s always a risk with everything but thankfully its personal choice when or if you use one to cycle in the UK.
🤣🤣
@@charliefourzero you just look a helmet for not wearing one
@@MsPaulsf to a conformist yes! we are all free to make our own choices.
Very new to pwc adventuring haven't chosen one yet Do I have the math right? You said 12 miles out and that was half a tank? So 24 miles is range? Thanks in advance
What size did you go with? And how tall are you?
Large frame and i am 6’1” 95kgs i eat alot of doughnuts :)
@@charliefourzero THATS REAL FUNNY YOU SAID
This Bike is a Beauty! 😊
No se entiende nada
🤷♂️
great video how is the bike doing? is it holding up strong and are you using it weekly or not so often? is it addictive to ride it?
Yes definitely addictive to ride daily and bonus is you can explore new places due to range you achieve with assist. Drawback is i am running out of new routes to explore so i need to drive then ride. Big investment but good for health and wellbeing especially if you are strict and keep it in eco accept for those impossible ascents when the front wheel is hard to keep down.
It’s beautiful until a shark grabs onto you
Wow that water is so filthy
put chip inside ;D
Probably will be tempted one day but still enjoying the assist up to 15.5mph and then leg power for anything faster. I think modifying to USA spec would give another few mph without losing accurate speed range measurements?
@@charliefourzero yes Chip is dumb. Pay 2 Dollars for 25mph
Be interested in what range you get before a recharge, looking at ordering one in may
In Eco it genuinely looks like 100mile area but Trail or Boost seems to be twice as demanding. Will reply again if i get better stats to share…
Nice review!! I ordered mine a few days ago. Can’t wait to get it in June. Until then, living the ride through every video 🤙
that was me two months ago too :) despite being an emtb, my legs ache so bad from riding it every opportunity i get!
amazing bike... i've got last years neuron:ON 8 and done over 1800 faultless miles... just had to replace the chain after 1761 miles.. :)
Wow thats some pedalling, i’m only on 750miles and second chain but a link got twisted.
Does the chain run on the stay protector when you’re in the 20 tooth out back? It looks very close in photos…
That was something i was also concerned about having seen other reviews but can’t say i notice it or any drag. I think it looks worse than it is as suspension compresses during riding lifting the rear wheel and chain up but i will have to take another look…
Excellent review. I can't believe you won't do a video for our band. It would be epic...
Ha! one day - if i was around more often we would defo have a vid. Cant stage it tho, gotta be incidental - all my vids are made like that. Just film for fun and then see if theres enuf to make anything from...
Nice one! You seem to buy everything I want…. Much cheaper living vicariously through you :)

Spill fuel is a problem if engine is hot.
I would be scared to be out that far with a Seadoo. So many videos of them sinking on a Facebook page, even 2021 models via carbon seal failure. I cannot wait till they fix that issue.
A very well put together video, I really enjoyed that. I know the area quite well, my sister lives 10 minutes from Princetown
Love your content!
Love your shoes mate! I always worry when I take mine out even though it never gave me any problems! I met a friend in the middle of the ocean and I feel more comfortable.
Looked like a fun time, though cold enough that just watchin' the video my balls were snuggling with my tonsils to keep warm! Need a serious thermos of coffee for that! Keep up the good work!
