I had a 78 mercury cougar mom was brown with a tan vinyl top and the tan interior mold at 1986 for 1200 bucks it had 96,000 miles on it drove till I had 247,000 miles on it I wish I’d love to get my hands on another one of them I love that car I had to 302 my nephew always talks about that car he went to Pennsylvania with meThat car

Neither collectors edition has oval opera windows even if it is dark blue ,white, or just (some) grey are build. I have owned a white one with dark blue leather interior white vinyl coach roof, turbine wheels with dark blue accents. Greetings from the netherlands.😊
I have one. Black. After 10 years just setting Started Re-doing. Needed new injectors Started immediately New Paint ( was recalled over paint) Was also recalled because of engine Rings. Both recalls were “fixed “. By installing new (the same) rings And re-painting using the Same clear coat that cracked causing the recall in the first place. If you want my Firebird Formula. You CANNOT Afford it. She’s my baby.

There was a Blue Chamois but no Bill Blass in 1978.
@@Arnold-t8n You are wrong. My car had emblems that said just that, Bill Blass Edition. I purchased it from a dealership after it was showcased in a Santa Ana mall. It was a dark blue, with chamois landau top, wheels, seats in blue cloth with chamois "suspender" trim and the faux tire hump with chamois padding. Had every option available at that time, including the moonroof, a snazzy, and yes, bit outlandish color combo, but I loved it!
@@TerryComo2010 You had the Blue Chamois. I thought the Bill Blass was for the Continental Mark V. I learned something. My Father has a 1978 Mercury Cougar XR7 in Champagne with brown vinyl and brown interior. He still has it and will not sell it. He drove it for over 285,000 miles. It was the most reliable car he ever owned. Honestly! Too bad you don't still have your car, you let go of a real gem. But I guess you know that. The companies will never ever build cars like these and other car's.
