I recognise fortuna's voice, I'm SURE I've heard it before

this film still makes me get nightmares of fortuna, it’s really crazy how trauma at a young age stays with you forever. I hate this film with passion because of it

Methos was a great character who deserved his own series. Instead we got the raven😅. I would have loved to see ancient times through methos eyes

This film is gorgeous, but I wish the fight choreography was better. I mean you have a unicorn fighting a harpy, put some ompff in it and with cooler angles.

"Not alone! You never could have freed yourselves alone! I held you!" Damn, that line shook me to the core. The unicorn told her not to boast. But she boasted till the very end. She died brimming with pride, she caught them, caged them up. And even when they did escape, they only did because they had help.

This scene was always weirdly impactful to me, because despite the harpy being something ugly and beastly and violent, the unicorn acknowledges that they are one and the same in some respect. The left and right hand of the same force, and despite the fact the harpy is something that will kill once it is freed, she is as deserving to as the last unicorn, and as needed in the world. While the harpy may be a killer, the true evil is the witch that holds what was never hers in suffering.

Fortuna: “You belong to me.” Unicorn: “You know better. Keep your poor shadows if you will, but let me go, and… let her go. I cannot see her caged. She is real, like me. We are two sides of the same magic… let her go.” Such an underrated movie!!!

Mommy Fortuna had a really strange idea of immortality she knew the harpy would kill her if she escaped but her idea of immortality is that if the harpy escaped and killed her she'll live on in the harpys memorie because of how long she held the harpy prisoner

So the clip was cut .. what a joke .. and this person uses this method to prop up her channel .. this is a bastardized form and this person is misrepresenting the unicorn and whoever this is needs to be shut down for failing unicorns

This speech has stuck with me since I first heard it decades ago. Especially the line _”and I was good at it.”_ I think I’ve used it at least twice in my own writing when I had characters describe past lives that they hate themselves for now.

Did the harpy drink their blood?

Oh...! That last line must've stuck with me as a kid. As an adult, I remember practically nothing of this movie, but this is something I definitely keep in mind. During those times where you feel like you're not alone at night, but none of your physical senses feel anything. Never run.

That sad moment when you realize an old "kids" movie is darker and more bad ass then most movies you've seen as an adult.

The harpy and red bull scenes scared me as a kid. Only now do i realize that if you respect beasts, then you'll be respected in kind. Plus this harpy has breasts.

Another aspect of Celeno that is not often discussed is how immediately after being freed she attacks the Unicorn. The Unicorn defends herself but is ultimately unbothered by the attack. She understands that this is in the harpy's nature rather than out of truce malice. In the book Celeno is more honest and admits that she will kill the Unicorn if she sets her free, yet she asks for it anyway. And the Unicorn, knowing that she might be hurt frees her anyway because in the end, regardless of what might happen, she knows what is right.

Angela Lansbury's three great villains had three spectacular deaths - shot through the head by her own brainwashed son, burned alive in her own oven, and ripped apart by her own prisoner.
